My backups wont boot in multiman latest version. –
Hello I'm new to Ps3 homebrew and Im having problems loading PS3 backups from the internal hdd. When I select a game from multiman it shoots me back to the xmb. It might be the fact that I started at playstation firmware 3.22 I think I know it was in the twenties. Anyways I updated to 3.55 ofw and straight to Rogero 4.30 v2.03 with no patches or anything. I followed the directions on youtube and torrent sites I downloaded the custom firmware from but as I've been searching for a fix for this problem I've came across tutorials on how to correctly do it including installing the patches after installing 3.55 ofw. I guest my question would be should I downgrade to 3.55 and create a backup like the tutorial suggest and install the patches as well or does it even matter or is it even possible to downgrade without a dongle. I wish I would have found the tutorial on how to do it correctly on this site before I started but hopefully you guys can help me.
Put any game disc in your PS3. When multiMAN 'shoots you back to XMB' go to the disc icon and you'll see the game you selected. Make sure that in multiMAN "Settings" you have set "BD-Rom Emulator" to "Hermes" or "Standard". It is the last option in the list.

Thank you for the reply. I messed with the settings last night and you don't even need a disk to play the game. Now my question is the lv1 patch and the other patches should I downgrade to 3.55cfw to install them or does it even matter and to also perform a nand backup witch I don't think is possible without a flasher anyways.
