So,I was messing about with some things [grabbing pic1 png's from game folders] and I was in openps3ftp while doing this,go down the list and realize I'm in the multiMan folder bles80..whatever,back out, when I back out I accidentally knock my mouse off my desk and some how hit rite click delete on the multiMAN folder.
So I immediately hit x on my controller to exit openps3,but the damage was done I didn't even try to start multiMAN as the icon in the xmb was screwed up,so I just hit /\ and deleted it thinking I would just reinstall.

Pop my thumb drive that has all my packages and the latest version I had on there was 04 09 00 full, try to install, error installing package file.

Ok,so look for another version on thumb drive,I find a very early version 1 14 00,try to install,it install and runs.

So I update from that to 2 0 9 00 base still installs and runs although about 30sec. after start there a high pitched whine that replaces all audio and gets louder and louder until I quit multiMan,but it runs.

Alright so I update from 2 0 9 00 to 4 00 00 full,it installs but dose not start,it kicks me back to the xmb

So I install the latest over it,4 19 00,again it install but this time when I try to start multiMAN it gives me error code 80010017.

Well that's were I'm at,any "full" pkg install kicks me back to the xmb and the latest wont even let me install,I'm sure I'm just being an idiot missing something, any help or links to proper versions or install process would be much appreciated.

    ok that half way worked.
i was thinking base meant basic not platform,
i say half way because im now running version 4 03 03,it wont let me update from inside multiman to the latest version,i assume in need a version in between 4 03 03 and the latest,ya know a proper install order, would you or anyone else happen to know that order?

    edit: more info
when i try to update it shows me the new file, tells me my version, then i hit download and it give me "error occurred while down loading an update",again im assuming my version is just to low to update to the most recent as my network is running fine.

    FIXED
I got it,my multiMan is now current
for any one else having the same issue,my install/update path was

    version 2 09 00 "BASE" (20111006-205000)
    to
    version 4 03 03 "full" (20120607)
    to
    version 4 14 00 "BASE CEX" (20121128)
then in 4 14 00 i was able to update to the latest version via the in multiMAN update

Also in the the successful process i switched thumb drives from a lexar to a pny, with the lexar 4gb i was getting errors on installs 1/3 times The lexar is SLOW 1 to 3mb write, the pny hovers around 20mbs,Dont know if that matters just putting it out there

THANKS PS3GEEK for putting me down the rite path

    EDIT:
HMM i cant seem to edit and add fixed to this post title is that a mod thing or another 30 days 30 posts thing?

    2nd edit:
if your haveing trouble finding the pkg's search multiman then the number in [] example: multiman (20111006-205000) {(20111006-205000) being 2 09 00...at least i think that's correct}.
