    @BahumatLord, it turned out to be another game. Read more...

    Even if it was the latest version of Assassin's Creed: Revelations, that one would carry the 3.72 FW on the disc. Or if he tried using a new BD movie disc like "The Smurfs" that would also have a nasty firmware ready to install.

    Sam > Jay Jay:

    the game was hunted the demon forge. it prompt me to update to 1.06 and I press ok, Thinking that it is ok.

    i am very sure that the ps 3 is working fine with multiman.

    I do not know if it is an old spoofer or cfw.

    Do you mean I can use eflasher to get back to cfw?

    The easy way to know if you have CFW (even with a spoofer), is to have these two icons under the Game Menu of the XMB and they are functional--meaning that they work:
    *Install Package Files
    */app_home/PS3_GAME/

    Now then, if you have these they have to be functional. If you don't have these, then you must be on OFW. But if you can load that game disc and it plays without the need of multiMAN loading the game, then you are on official firmware 3.60 and you must downgrade in order to be able to use multiMAN and other homebrew apps.

    If you load a disc game that requires a higher firmware, the game will have the update in the disc.

    Like I said before, I have no experience in how to downgrade a PS3, but all I can suggest is to do a search in the forum for a guide or use Google. I have read many reports that it's possible, even though a bit of the technical side (like having to pry open your console to hookup some wires and etc.)

    Here is a guide I know that later allows you to use True Blue Dongle after downgrading. http://psx-scene.com/forums/f265/kad...onsoles-99778/ (KADO True-Blue JB2 Patch for Downgraded consoles)

    Good luck friend!

    Hunted The Demon's Forge is a 3.60 game but is playable on 3.55 with a patch. There is a 3.60 update file on the disc which would have prompted you to update if you didn't install the patch. The 1.06 update you did is unrelated to the system update. It would have asked you to install the 2 separately and you would have seen a license agreement before installing the system update. Follow Jay-Jay's instructions above to double check, but it's starting to sound like you accidentatlly updated and you're going to need to flash your console. Check out the E3 Flasher - It seems to be the easiest

    There are indeed official firmware updates packaged on Game and even some BluRay movie discs. How do you think people update their system to play a game that requires a higher firmware and they don't have internet on their PS3?

    Game updates don't come on discs (from my experience) which makes since because they can just integrate game updates directly into the game when it's on the disc. Internet updates are to fix issues that they couldn't fix in time for the mass disc production. Greatest hits etc do sometimes include DLC as additional install packages below the main disc icon, though.

    Also, when in recovery mode the system will check for a firmware .PUP on the disc before it checks for one on a USB drive. So, be careful when using recovery mode to install CFW, because you might install a higher OFW from the game disc.
