Multiman questions

A beginner has a couple of questions. Thanks in advance!!

I have a PS3 slim running Kmewa 3.55. Mulitman is installed and working fine with games already existing on the HD. So... I have dowloaded a couple of new games and I know (kinda) hot to transfer games from my mac to the ps3 by FTP. The problem is that the method does not always work. So, my question is... is there a guide somewhere on the forum explaining the installation of downloaded games on the PS3 HD and making them work in Multiman?

Question nr 2 - some downloaded games are in .pkg files. How do I install such games?

Question nr 3 - I have tried to move gamefiles from the computer to the PS3 both using WiFi and USB stick. Both methods work bat both are painfully slow. Is there any other, faster way to do this?

there's most likely loads of tutorials in the multiman thread so look there first.

The quickest way is to get yourself an external hard-drive,
format it to fat32,
then put the games straight onto that into a GAMES/GAMEZ folder,
multiman will check that folder on any external drives for your games.

pkg files just need to go on the root of your external drive/usb and then install using the install pkg files in your xmb menu under game.

ftp can be painfully slow sometimes so i would always suggest moving them onto an external from internal where you can or a direct rip straight from disc

lastly, carfeful of the word 'downloaded' here - piracy isnt allowed, just ask for help with the games, dont mention how you got them

THANK YOU!!! I was just wandering WHY I do need to move files to the internal drive at all... and here comes your answer. Thank you very much indeed!

And yes, I realized that I should maybe have used a more ACTA friendly terminology, will think of that next time.

lol, no worries, I have EVERYTHING on my external (2tb)
I only use internal for game data and 2 games that wont run from external (though I never play them so will probably delete them, lol)
plus about 3 psn thingies
best bet is to get yourself a decent sized external and save on the internal space - makes it easier to transfer (as well as quicker) and also easier to transport to friends houses :0)

saves on a massive amount of space on your internal which you can put to better use for split game cache, game data, updates etc....

You've made me confused now... so it's not enough if I just save games on external drive and start multiman?

yeah - thats fine just putting games on your external,

that last bit was for pkg files - you can put them on your usb and install fine as I mentioned before but if you run out of space that link I provided gives you the option of installing the pkg files to your external too
