Ok so here goes, since i cant seem to find a simple answer, maybe its not that simple but I have a PS3 80 GB Backwards Compatible PS3 Fat NTFS US System, CFW 3.55 and i have installed both Backup Manager2 and Multiman most recent version. I have a back up of a game in the folder tree i created on devhdd0/game/lau12345/gamez/bluxxxx and i cant seem to have either one work, Backup manager gives me the 800xxxxx error and and MultiMan finds the game directory but i dont know how to start it. Do i still need a BluRay disc in the drive with the newest version, different information says different things which is why I am confused now. So the game resides on my PS 3 hard drive internally via FTP but i cant seem to get anything to register. I need help and i have read a lot but there is so much out there nothing clear and concise

    1. Games don't go in that folder anymore. Much safer in /dev_hdd0/Games or Gamez. As for your 800 error, these are generally because you don't have original files (something has been patched) or the patch that has been applied wasn't for the version of the game you've got (patch made for US ver, you've got EU, etc.). As for how to load a game. Open up your BM, select your game by pressing X on it. This will dump you to the XMB. Once at the XMB you should have a PS3 game disk in your drive (most compatible way of loading) and when you go to the game disk icon you'll notice that it's turned into the game you loaded in your BM. The other way you can load a game is the same instructions as above, but instead of selecting the game disk you select /app_home/PS3_GAME without a disk in the drive. The latter method has a much lower compatibility rate though. BTW: Make sure you've also downloaded and installed BDEMU.pkg for MultiMan otherwise it won't load any backups. You can find the package by going to the PS3 Game Backup forum, find the MultiMan sticky and click on the paperclip on the far right. Scroll about halfway down and you'll find bdemu.rar. Download, extract, and then install the package contained within.

Already one step I didnt apply with the BDEMU. So no it should go right into the Games or Gamez folder instead of the LAU12345/Gamez. Let me try that and get back to you. I do honestly appreciate your assistance sir :-)

Start a backup process in multiman after install bdemu.pkg. That will create the folder for you and you'll see which path MM prefers.

Ok so I installed BDEMU.pkg which now i realize was triggering the no BD Emulation found. I moved the BLUxxxx folder to /dev_hdd0/Games/BLUxxxx if thats correct and now I cant find the eboot. Should I have moved the Eboot over also?

Just deleted the whole game from the folder and starting fresh by transferring the BLUS30410 file to the folder you told me to put it in. From there in file manager in MM i should use the Circle button to back it up is that correct? Because it went to 100% and kept on going i wasnt sure if it was going to ever end so I aborted it

    Is this accurate Chesh?

"First, I am sorry if this is in the wrong area.

Second, Sorry if this is a re-post I did not see a topic on this.

I had this issue and have noticed alot of others have too, here is the very simple fix!

As soon as you start the Backup process and see the progress bar in the middle of the screen press the "O" button once.

You should now be at a screen that has the progression information (time/MB's/%) but has a scrolling downward list of each file it is copying over.

This is it. Just let it finish. "

Ok, sorry, I'm at work so it takes me some time to respond. Anyway, to backup a game, stick the game you want to backup into your PS3 and then load up MM. Once loaded, highlight the game and press O on it. This will back up the game to the location you specify (/dev_hdd0 for internal, /dev_usb00 for external). Pay particular attention to where MM backs up the game if it's on internal. This is just for reference of where to store your FTP'd games. As for the progress bar issue, I believe you can go into MM's settings and change how it displays. I know that the progress bar has issues w/ calculating actual time remaining, so it either won't finish or says it's 100% even though it isn't. You can have other managers installed at the same time too. MM is always the suggested BM because of all the things it can do. I actually have Rogero, MM, and Iris installed on my PS3. Each has it's own things that it does better then the others.

When FTP'ing any games onto your internal HDD, the game needs to be complete. So, you'd want to transfer the whole BLUS/BLES/etc folder into /dev_hdd0/Games. Once completely transferred over, you can then load MM and select the game and follow my guidance above of how to load (whether it be diskless or w/ disk).
