I just tried copying my backup of HAWX 2 from the external hdd to internal using the PFS driver.. It took over 25 mins.. Considering the Backup is only about 8 gigs it shouldnt take more than 10 mins right?

That's it. It must have a large bunch of smaller sized files, which take a sh*t load of time to be transferred individually. I had the same issue with transferring Demon's Souls via FTP once. The game was only 8GB in size and had around 12,000 odd files. The game took roughly 45 minutes to transfer. :P

Yea FTP is faster, also like lord suggested most hard drives, especially the PS3 have trouble with large amounts of small files. The constant read/write causes performance issues. Same thing happens on any computer in all honesty. When you sit there and move or delete a mass number of small files, your performance goes to shit.

Seems to make sense.. Guess ftping through external hd is the way to go for games like these..
