Hey guys I am going to upgrade my PS3 HDD.But before I upgrade I wanted to make backups of two PS3 games that is, in my current HDD..The two games that I have right now are Red Dead Redemption and Resident Evil 5:Gold Edition. Now the problem is that Multiman did backed-up Red Dead Redemption on my external HDD (Toshiba 500GB,FAT32 formated) but it is not backing up Resident Evil 5:Gold Edition..It gets stuck at 17% and time goes on increasing.Same thing happened when I was backing up Assassin's Creed(1) from disc to external HDD...so what is the problem here?

i was just about to create a thread about multiman not being able to copy to internal hdd

I tried to copy LA Noire from Disc to Internal HDD and it got stuck at 22%, I left for half hour and it was still at 22%! It also got stuck trying to copy a game from external HDD to internal. I think the copy function is broke/buggy, and when i use comgenie, it always works no problem.

Im glad i kept comgenie around because i cant figure out Multiman's file manager, where can i look at a controller button layout?

i also have this problem... but only copy to external.. if im lucky 1 out of 10 times it will get it all (small game) but big games... not a chance at first i thought maybe a bad connection with my external.. but if i fire up Blackbox ftp i can copy with no problem with pc server.. IDK just a head scratcher i guess.

I wonder if it's related that some of those backups from internal to external may be games that have files that are larger than 4GB. And perhaps they are being split into multiple files and perhaps this is why it's taking so long? And perhaps this is why the percentage value doesn't change for a while, since during that process the large files are being split first and after this process it's finished it will then proceed in transferring the split files to the destination HDD--perhaps there is no time-count indication for the splitting process, since I believe the host HDD has the split files before being transferred to the destination HDD.

I tend to copy over from external to internal and external to external and also on occasion from internal to external on a regular basis. But they are not backups that have large 4GB+ files. So no issues here with the latest version of multiMAN. I hope this helps in some way.

Also, I'd like to note that I don't use multiMAN built in file manager to copy or transfer backup games. I use the game backup procedure and then select which HDD I want the transfer to go to. Perhaps this may also be a clue. So when you select the game in multiMAN, press [] to bring up the game menu and then use the copy/backup feature. Then select Yes to the HDD you wish to transfer to.

I'm pretty sure this problem is due to the filenames guys. I also encountered this issue some time back and had to delete the colon ':' (Resident Evil 5:Gold Edition) from the games on internal before they would copy over to external. It may also be due to some other unsupported characters in the filenames, but buried a few folders deep, hence the partial copy problem.

Question: Are you referring to the name file PARAM.SFO or the name of the folder? I tend to use the folder game ID as the only name when I transfer backups from one HDD to another.
