First, D_Skywalk, thank you very much for releasing this and making it open source.

While I appreciate multiMAN, I think that keeping it closed is disgusting and not in the best interest of the scene. It stifles innovation because most smaller managers aren't able to compete. Would multiMAN be even here today if Open Manager wasn't open? I doubt it.

Saying the source is illegal (multiMAN - multifunctional tool for your PS3 (Game manager/File manager/FTP/AVCHD/BDMV)) is just ridiculously stupid. Releasing a GPL derived binary without the source code and compiled using a leaked SDK is illegal! I don't see how the source could be illegal, care to explain?

To those saying that it is closed because people might claim it as their own, how can you defend that position when dean did the same thing? Where are you giving credit to Open Manager, dean? Look at all the backup manager threads, they all give credit, but not the high and mighty multiMAN!

Sorry for this rant, but deans post made me rage a bit.

Easy easy, don't forget that no one is getting paid here. The fact that you even have a manager to discuss should be cause for celebration. My statement here is intended for all, not just this poster.

It was mentioned to me that playing music during all games would be a good feature to add to multiman. The param.sfo is where the ps3 gets the information on weather or not it will allow playing of music during a game from what I have been told. Would it be possible to implement a patch in multiman that would make it so all games could do this? Just like the psp remote play. I love multiman thx Dean

Also, there isn't need to say that ntfs just for copying is useless!
A more useful feature will be able to run split games directly from external 8)

Useless for you perhaps, but when you want the drive to be able to carry larger files for other things than ps3 then it would be nice with proper ntfs support.
And yea I don't mind the feature not working as it is new, but it would be nice with a little feedback or something. :-)

Last night I moved from using a dongle to Kmeaw CFW and the latest multiman. Everything seemed to go well. When I boot, I got into multiman and hit "O" to make my backup. I used Demons Souls and Killzone 3. After they copied I clicked "Load" and the ps3 booted to XMB. When I scan through the games menu, the game I loaded isnt there. I tried with and without a disk installed. Am I missing a step or something?

are you seeing the message at multiMAN startup stating reduced BDEMU functionality? If u havent installed the BDEMU.pkg from bitsbubbas sig, have at it. its, your "payload".

    1) I don't have issues with the NTFS support in multiMAN, but then again - I have only one USB HDD. Everything works just fine - 2 partitions (FAT32 + NTFS) - both detected and displayed in file manager and in the game list.

    2) PFS libraries (which provide the NTFS support) are provided as compiled binaries. It is not possible to modify anything in the driver AT ALL, so I can't make any improvements whatsoever.

First post updated with link to the new tool ebootFIX/ebootMOD.

More about it: here (Tomb Raider Trilogy working PKG [1st post])

Even more about it: here (Tomb Raider Trilogy working PKG [1st post]).

Thanks to Rogero and Belmondo for all the tests, help and hints.

    Code:
    ************************************************************************************
Short readme for ebootMOD and ebootFIX:
    ************************************************************************************
    ebootFIX:

Drag and drop a PS3 game folder to ebootFIX.exe.

    For example drag&drop

    	X:\GAMES\MY_GAME\PS3_GAME

    	or

    	X:\GAMES\MY_GAME\PS3_GAME\USRDIR

    	or

    	X:\GAMES\MY_GAME

    to ebootFIX.exe.

ebootFIX processes whole game folders and produces two output folders:

--> [NPDRM] - folder - content ready to be installed as PSN-style XMB game:
You will find two PKG files in the folder. The tool will decrypt and sign
all executables (EBOOT.BIN and other .self / .sprx files) to make them compatible
with lower firmware versions. Follow the generated INSTRUCTIONS in
    [NPDRM] folder.

--> [RETAIL] - folder - all files which you can replace in your original
backup copy to play the game via a Game Manager.

    ************************************************************************************
    ebootMOD:

Drag & drop a file (EBOOT.BIN, .self or .sprx) to ebootMOD.exe. It will decrypt and
sign the file to make it compatible with lower firmware versions. The generated file
will be saved in the same folder with the original, prefixed with "MODIFIED_".

    More options available via command-line.
    ************************************************************************************
