Hi Dean. Great tool man. I dont know if you remember me, but you help me so many times in the past with multiavchd and splitmkv, so i need you help again. I want view my blu-rays in the ps3 again. Every blu-rays are in a external hd, formated in ntfs, so:
Will be possible read blu-ray from ntfs in the future, with multiman ?
Any chance to read mkv files with subtitles, cover and audio hd ?

A CFW precisa de um suporte para leitura de jogos pelo sistema NTFS, isso não depende do backup manager.

SPK_Ryu has already answered your question Movie playback from NTFS drive will only be possible if the available NTFS driver is implimented into a CFW because MM does not play the movies you have to exit MM to play the movies from the XMB that MM mounts in turn closing off the NTFS driver as it is only in MM. this is why we can only play games from a FAT32 drive cause those drivers are in the FW

Well for games this is assumption is right, but i don't think it is for movies too - maybe it is possible to execute movies directly within multiman, without exiting to xmb

it is not possible as of right now.

He CAN'T. Please read the read a bit and you'll see it explained several times: the firmware itself needs to support NTFS in order to play games from NTFS partitions, there is nothing Deank can do about it. Only a new CFW with built-in NTFS support can do that, and I have no idea if Deank has the skills and knowledge to create such a CFW, and I doubt he has the time for it anyways.

Your only option at the moment is to transfer the blu-ray from your NTFS disk to the internal HDD and then play it - that will work.

About mkv... no go atm.

It would be possible if Deank made a built-in movie player in MultiMan, but again, it would require helluva lot of work, testing, more work, and modifying MultiMan. It's better to have a separate movie player than one integrated into a backup manager. An external movie player could of course make use of the filesystem libraries and support NTFS the same way as MultiMan does.

The question now is then: who has the skills, time and the tools to start coding a real multimedia player for PS3. I myself have done quite a lot of stuff, including a few multimedia convertors and players, but I have never tried PS3 programming and I don't really even have interest for such at the moment, but most of all, I wouldn't have any idea where to start.
