o lol i got this bookmarked and i always go to this thread lol, my bad.

i was afraid/ am afraid i loose my MM installs and games on my HDD etc.

i can safely rebuild the database, but it has to format my HDD? no way around it?

Nothing you can do about it you can't access the PS3 without doing it and you can't access the HDD on a PC, so you just have to go ahead and bite the bullet, it's odd that it wants to format the drive but there must be a reason for it, try the recovery menu rebuild option first to see if it requires a format aswell but if it doe's then that's it.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you could go around in circles for days listening to different opinions but in the end your still stuck with a paper weight until you do what the system wants.

I might not be reading this right, but you can only copy to NFTS but not play?

Either way this is huge and big steps are being taken!

I think its ONLY copy FROM not to ntfs.

@ DeanK, Is it possible to poke the driver into the XMB from the XMB or does it only work with program written to support it?

I need to know before I go about the process of trying to make a poke for it. NTFS drivers would make it possible to install pkg files that are bigger than 4gb in size. Hence why I am pursuing any info about this.

So far, love multiman. Thanks Dean. From internal everything works great except for those dreaded black screen games that need alternate emulation and only work from an external source.


The only other issue I seem to have and a google search led me all of nowhere is that I have a lot of games where the dialogue is missing. The audio seems to play fine, but there will be parts where I am sure on my original there was talking that will just be missing.

Mod nation racers did it a ton for me, then randomly one of the videos would have talking after a few that didn't.
Killzone 3 had a part in the intro video that did it.
Also, saw it on a few others I tested.

Anyone else experience this? Is it just something that happens from the internal? Is it something that trying another manager might fix?

I'll run through a couple of these guesses today and see where I get. Just was hoping I'm not the only one.

Well Call of Duty Modern Warfare has the same cover as Modern Warfare 2 and the cover is (Modern Warfare 2). So what I'm trying to say Call Of Duty Modern Warfare has Modern Warfare 2 cover pic! Me, I don't care just thought I'd say something!

I do the themes but not the covers.

The spoof is just so your PS3 thinks its on 3.56, all you really achieve with this, is that you dont get reminded about there being a new firmware as it thinks its already on it. Thats all.. NO PSN.

but this only happens if you connect to internet right? what i don't understand is why if you can't use psn want to connect the ps3 to internet? you can use internet for other things without risk of ban? thanks
