So, the 01.14.02 version works on 3.41 hermes CFW?
Doesn't make any sense. The 60GB seagate inside my fat ps3 is realy realy old. Changing it with a modern high density/platter 5400 would make a big difference in loading times and maybe multithreaded ftp transfers. Now, going straight to a 7200RPM drive with the latest density/platter available, like a WD5000BEKT, or this expensive beast which i'm not sure what platter density has, would boost every aspect of disk related activity even more. It's only logical. It may be a second here, 5 or 7 secons there, but over time this seconds add up. I say all this because i have for a very long time a 320GB bekt inside a jtag 360, and i've seen the boost. That 320GB bekt uses 2x160GB platters, inferior to the 2x250GB platters on the new 500GB bekt, so that's even faster.
Now, let me say something about FTP. I've just realised that BlackBox_FTP_Server_v1.2 gives me the best speed (~29-32 Mb/s, faster than OpenPS3FTP v1.1, and more than double of what i've seen from multiman's ftp server).
All this using filezilla and a single thread. Going for more threads is useless on this old junk of a hdd that i have.
Did some searching and can't find the answer. Did anyone get Nail'd or FEAR 2 Project Origin to work? I'm on latest MM? I have Kmeaw CFW. If anyone got these to work can you please tell me how?
Ok. Don't know what I did wrong. 11 other games work perfect except those 2. Maybe because I did the permission fix? If thats the problem does the permissin fix in MM modify files? If so which one(s)? I don't relly want to rerip. Tried Nail'd on both internal and ext HDD. Maybe the eboot is borked? Can you upload the original eboot to the repostitory thread? Just tryin to figure this out so I don't make the same mistake again. Thanks for your help.
@Iorgu
Even if the rpm is higher with 7200 than 5600, you will most likely only save 1-3 seconds. You won't feel virtually anything different.
Also 7200 makes more heat than 5600 and for only 1-3 seconds, I wouldn't really risk making something burn out in the PS3.
OK. Recopied Nail'd from external to internal HDD and it worked the second time. Now if theres a way to get FEAR 2 to work.......
@Neo1000, check this out.
"You won't get any speed boost with higher than 5400RPM HDD." = this somehow became a ridiculous ps3 urban myth. There is NEVER a case where a 7200rpm drive isn't at least a bit faster, while sometimes the differences are huge. 7200rpm drives save alot of wasted life added over time looking at loading screens.
Heat isn't an issue, as modern 7200rpm drives have similar temps to 5400rpm ones. I've said it before, i have a 7200rpm inside a jtag for a long long time and all is fast and flawless.
Could somebody explain to me how to view videos on my ps3 using this program. I heard it could be done by putting video files in a virtual folder that can be seen on the xmb. I have tried to figure this out but i'm never able to see the vids or the that folder (ps3_home).Was the ability of this feature removed? I also no talking about avchd's but just regular avi's that are ps3 compatible.
