I just realized that ps3 games are in several different files. It's not like copying a 7gb iso file like for 360. Woops. Thanks for the info guys. Or am I wrong. Is it just one big ISO file?

So called "Split-Games" only run from the internal HDD.
It'as because an external Drive with FAT32 can't handle files bigger than 4 GB.
So you CAN backup a game on an external drive BUT not play it.
If you copy it back from external to the internal HDD, the filemangar (GAIA, MultiMAN) merges them back to one single file and u can play it.

Just happend me with GT5 and Final Fantasy XIII. I copied them back to the internal, GAIA merged them and now they run

But for the most part I shouldn't have to worry about it right?

I noticed there are 2 last game + 2 base pkgs in the package. Can I assume that the one with "3.55GH" in the filename is ONLY for geohot's 3.55? Or does it work with all 3.55 CFW? The other one without is for 3.41?

Sorry , am a bit confused..

Never mind, got my answer from post #4035

I don't know if this is the correct thread, but I know it is full of clever readers.

I would like to give a try to multiMAN but I prefer to split large files on my computer. the problem is that I'm running linux and I couldn't find any port of split4g to this OS.

Do you happen to know who is the developer behind split4g? I'm volunteering to make a port for linux either starting from the original windows source or from the specification split'd files must have to be compatible with BM.

    cheers
