In advance,I'm sorry for my bad english,ok?
Well let's go!
I have one question,I'm sorry if is simple, but I'm new in this PS3 world,my PS3 have 3.55 Kmeaw, and I update the multiMan for the 4.03.02,and in the end,I see the CFW is no more Kmeaw,is [SC|8 HERMES]. This CFW HERMES is very confiable, how to Kmeaw?
Thanks in advance!
KMEAW is the CFW, Hermes is the payload multiMAN uses to play the games (you also have the choice to use PL3 [SC]35)

Hi everyone. I have ps3 slim 160Gb with e3 card reader with dual Hermes/Kakaroto payload on it.
When i bought ps3—I was lucky enough to have factory firmware on it 3.40.
So I just updated to 3.41 and started to jailbreak my ps3.
The reason I do like 3.41+jailbreak is that with Hermes 4b almost all my games work without Disc in the tray(app_home/PS3_Game). Actually I forgot when did I put last time disc in the disc tray....
Lately I played some BSOD-game with disc in the tray, but was very unhappy because I know for sure—disc not just sits inside there, it also spins----so BD-drive slowly but for sure wears out...
I heard that almost all games from True-Blue team work in Disc_Less_Mode. How do they do it?
Lately i started to think about changing for CFW3.55 Kmeaw, but not sure about it.
I heard that Kmeaw 3.55 requires to have in drive all the time Game Disc. Is this true?
Are there games which work with Kmeaw in Disc_Less_Mode? Is Disc_Less_Mode compatibility better in Kmeaw or in 3.41 with dongle?
I know a lot of people very happy when they switch to 3.55 is because now they have two menu entries (Install pkg and app_home_PS3_Game) without dongle connecteed to ps3, but hey guys, now you dependent on to have all the time Game disc in the tray and everytime to turn on lv2.pkg.
I remember that when i was on PS2-Scene----there people where happy. With OPL-no disc inside.
Because what kind of backup playing it that on ps3? What is backup playing?
1.It is comfort----all your games sitting on HDD;
2.It is to save lens of BD_Drive.
But if to have all the time disc in tray----what kind of lens saving it is?
Also a lot of people with fat-ps3 have not working BD-drive. What they are supposed to do?
When jailbreak for ps3 just started—everyone was happy. Then Hermes made huge proggress—Real Disk_Less_Mode with Hermes 4b payload.
Now in Kmeaw 3.55 proggress went back---no Disk_Less_Mode.
Now I read on the front page diffreneces between 3.55 and 3.41. But at first was a little bit shocked and then still did not understand everything. I thought before that 3.55 is more developed than 3.41.
Can someone explain me. We have payloads, but how syscalls are related to payloads?
So there are such payloads:
syscall 6 and 7---peek and poke---looks like kmeaw has support only for those? Is it enough to have only them in order to play games in discless mode and also to run homebrew? Did Geohot created those syscalls?
Syscall 8—hermes ...
Syscall 35, 36, PL3----? What they are for? Did Kakaroto created syscall 36? Why PL3 is not stable and to opposite syscall 36 is stable?
Does that mean that if Multiman uses as main syscall 36---games wont work in Disc_Less_Mode?
What is the differense between lv2.pkg and bdemu.bin? Are they payloads? Who created bdemu.bin? Is it enough to have only bdemu.bin if I want to use not just Multiman but also Rogero?
Which syscall does use bdemu.bin in 3.55?
If I want Disc_less_Play---do I need to run lv2.pkg instead of bdemu.bin?
Kmeaw does not have support for all syscalls because sony patched it in firmware 3.55 or because it it just not implemented by kmeaw?
Why development for ps3 cant be like for psp? Do you remember at first psp also required to have disc in the drive, but then some kind of driver was used to emulate it.. Why cant be done the same for ps3? Because no-one actually hacked blue-ray technology?
Does someone know---Hermes and other developers---do they develop payloads nowadays or development already stopped?
Deank can you tell me what you personnaly do use 3.55 or 3.41?
What do you think is better?
Do you think is it worth it to switch to 3.55?
If tomorrow E3 team will release CFW4.11, will everyone again consider to switch from 3.55 to 4.11? Again will be story that we have to replace second time eboot.bins to original because they wont work on 4.11 if they are not original....
I already would switch 100 times to 3.55 if games would not require to have disc in disc tray...
I want to save laser of my ps3...
Deank, I know that Multiman switched to syscall 36 as standard one, though as said it supports everything, Can You make bigger support in Multiman for Discless_Game_Mode (app_home/PS3_Game) ? To my opinion it is the most important feature to everyone... Every person wants to save his BD-Drive... Please , can you set it as main priority, Can you add more features for Discless play, Direct Boot Discless. It is so convenient to play in Discless_Mode...
I know that some games just cant work without disc---so for those is ok to my opinion to use game disc---like for example Borderlands or Man vs Wild, but for others, I think the main priority must be Discless_Play....The main moto on Psx-Scene can sound like this from now on: Save Your BD-Drive----Play Discless on your PS3 with CFW3.55.....Thats why Backups are used for—to save your BD-Drive.......
Also about BD-Emulation---Can it be developed further? I mean can it mount with “Select+X” game on external HDD but without Game disc inside ps3? Is it possible to do so? How to cheat ps3 to think that game on external HDD is real game and emulate it or better say mount so the icon of game disk appears in menu?
What would you recommend me if I want to play in discless mode---stay on 3.41 or switch to 3.55?
Which CFW3.55 is better---I heard that there are a lot of them, but looks like people like Kmeaw..
As far as I understand, Kmeaw was issued only once—in 2011y, does anyone know—will Kmeaw issue second version of Kmeaw—for example Kmeaw 3.55 ver.2---?
If to compare 3.41 with Hermes 4b payload and Kmeaw3.55---which one has bigger suppport for Discless games? For example if game worked without any modifications to eboot.bin and param.sfo in discless mode on 3.41—like “Mirrors Edge”for example,---will it also work in Discless mode on Kmeaw 3.55 ?
Also as far as I understood---Kmeaw has the most freedom---it can launch signed and unsigned .pkg files....Probably thats why people like it...Even though it does not contain all the syscalls....
Guys I also heard that it is possible to launch ps3 games installed as pkg files and then it can be played without any additional software—directly from xmb. Is this true? If so then its amazing...
Ok Guys please help me to decide what to do, switch to 3.55 or stay on 3.41... who has experience with 3.55 Kmeaw—please say how many games it supports in discless mode? Will the latest versions of Multiman support Discless_Play on Kmeaw 3.55?
Thanks Guys for the answers...

@SkyNet, read this, it will help sort a lot out. multiMAN Beginner Guide.pdf
Why choose Kmeaw CFW 3.55? It's is very stable and has more compatibility with many homebrew apps. I used Kmeaw, until I went with TrueBlue CFW.
Things to also keep in mind:
- There are still games that require a game disc in order for it to load. And the game disc only spins inside when loading a game or other.. it usually stops spinning after a short period of time. So I think it doesn't affect the life span of the lens.
- BDEMU2, lv2 or installing an external payload (hermes, PL3, and etc) isn't required to install, since multiMAN ver 4 and higher, no longer requires it.
- Some games will require you to enable BD-Mirror (see above manual for more info about this.)
- multiMAN will be able to load games with 4GB+ split files from external HDDs and play them with Kmeaw--(read the above manual for more details).
- PSN games (some need to be cracked) can play fine from the XMB. Some disc games you can convert them to PSN games, so they load from the XMB, but it's usually rare if you want to go that route nowadays.
To understand what games will require a certain settings, consult with compatibility charts like these two:
