It's baffling me as to why this is the case but If I move a file it will disappear from the menu, if I move it back to the same location it WILL NOT reappear. No matter how many times I scan for items it remains hidden although it can be seen in file manger AND is still playable. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the code for MM which deals with repeated file names? I have read through the forums for this issuebut have been baffled by it for almost a week now. When it works however the results in MM are stunning. So many thanks deank

Hey, to find the covers I renamed them EXACTLY as the film in my INTERNAL. Just drop the .jpg in the SAME folder in your internal as your films are, as well as sizing them 260x300 or 520x600 I believe ( I used 260x300 to avoid freezing) ..also I am on the latest MM with updated Showtime 3. As far as your INTERNAL goes just create a folder inside dev_hdd0, name it and drop your videos in there along with you .jpgs.
Edit- I've noticed that if you let the MM load properly before touching the control ALL your jpgs will load but if on start up you scroll too fast or disrupt the loading some covers will show up corrupt. Just lettin ya know...

Those numbers are probably irrelevant here. It is not HDD storage space it is complaining about but "memory".
So this probably means that the available free CPU memory at the time is not sufficient to allow the browser to be launched.

To anyone
Dose Rebug allow you to sort your games in abc order without the need to add album names. This is what I gess I am really looking for in a firmware. So please let me know.
PS. I thank I may have found away of adding the abc order thing to the real xbm menu. However multiman blocks changing anything in the flash dev so I can not test. So is there a file explorer that will let me brake my ps3 in this way. I hope it works but you know what I mean.

Try to launch the browser right after you load multiMAN. The only "thing" that eats memory is the XMMB PHOTO column. It may grab 30MBs without returning it back and then you can't use the browser. If you browse lefr/right and some of the images in the photo column are not-really-compatible you get this problem.
If you want to investigate further - start multiMAN by holding L2 and R2 for debug mode. Then you'll be able to see the available memory in the lower left corner. It changes with every move you make. If it drops below 65536 - you can't use the browser. Usually the initial free memory size is about 70.xxx or more.

Thanks bros!
If I remember right (been a good while) You will have to embed the image you want as cover art into the mp3, using id3 protocol v2. If you start this, remember you can use jpg or png, jpg has kinda become the standard. You could also be adding the possibility of crash's or other problems inside multiMAN.

multiMAN's file manager combined with dev_blind allows you to do anything in the dev_blind (dev_flash)

I also have the "not enough memory" issue starting the browser as soon as I enter to MM. It happens when I start MM with the "CREATIVITY" theme.
If I start MM with the default theme, "Comic" or "The Media Cabinet" the memory stay near 68.xxx and the error does not happen.
BTW I don't have any picture in XMMB PHOTO column.

Try replacing creativity boot.png with original boot.png and see if it still happens. I like condors boot screen with that theme but 4.5 mb is a bit big for loading at boot up.

YES!!! That did the trick. I edited the BOOT.PNG and reduced its colors from 16M to 256 (palette based, optimized octree, no transparency, non-interlaced) -> 851KB. The boot screen looks the same, but no memory error starting the browser from XMMB.
Thanks for the tip whompus60 !
@ElBohemio:
Go to File Manager, click on Themes label (top of the screen), then select the "Creativity" folder, replace the BOOT.PNG (4.5MB) with another PNG smaller in size.
Return to XMMB and select the theme "Creativity" again. Restart MM (START+SELECT).
