I like that File Manager Access. I had thought of that before but I don't need it so I didn't say anything.Nice ADD!. This will be helpfull for alot of ppl that have Kids
and so forth.
Edit: It's for when you copy games that have big files to your external drive with split files. Just keep reading backwards. Talking atleast 20+ pages back. When you play games that have split files from your External you need the BDEMU2 installed and need to set a few things in the settings menu of the game in Square/Triangle(in XMMB) and change the BD-ROM Emulator(Hermes I think.). Just keep reading backwards.
EDIT2:Hell yeah.... That is Tight. Nice and smooth. Damn I need to get some dolla dolla dolla's your way soon.* Added: Context menu in File Manager (similar to right-click) with CIRCLE button (all other shortcuts are removed)

Hi guys - having a wee problem. trying to FTP over files to the PS3 to slightly amend themes etc, but they get copied over with only read/write permissions for owner (600), so they dont get picked up by anything. Have tried setting the permission using the ftp program, but it says the CHMOD operation isnt a valid command. Any ideas how I can either fix the permissions or copy over with correct permissions?
I know you can do this for games with the inbuilt option, but not for theme folders for example.
Same question to me?
I hade a 4TB Nas on there are 1TB Movies and som PS3 games (at moment only Backups).
But its a nice feture if you can copy files from MM Filemanager from Nas to PS3HDD or from PS3 to the NAS or play videos with showtime from the NAS or Link the Videos to XMMB Tab VIDEOS?
What does "Ext Game Data" do? I read back that it is not to be checked when using the 'cache' feature.
Also, what does BD-Mirror exactly do anyway? Why do other games need it?
When using the 'cache' feature, do I need to check BD-Mirror and Game Disc settings?
Just delete the folder before you copy the game across.[/QUOTE]
buggerlugz, you're assuming I'm pirating the games (and warez discussions are not allowed on this board)
if you're FTPing over your backup from PC to the PS3, then yes.. you can manually delete the PS3UPDAT.DAT file (and language files you don't need in European / PAL versions of games), however if you're backing up your legit bluray game disc then you need to go into the file manager and remove the file manually.. I was hoping that the copying process could automatically skip the PS3UPDAT.DAT file.
while on requests:
1. it'd be nice if files >4GB on the internal HDD were colour coded in the file manage, so they stood out more.
2. any chance of a 'TEST DISK' function to see if there are >4GB files on the original disk before you back it up? That way you can decide to back it up direct to a USB FAT32 formatted HDD if there are no 'large files'.
it's all about making backing up from disk easier and faster
thank you deank!
hey dean
just wanted to let you know that i have experienced the same problem of games not working immediately after caching but working perfectly on a second run on other games i have
i can verify that gow collection works using game cache
please look into it when you have the time
thx
1. Ext Game Data: I used for External Game Data. Like Ps3 XMB Game Data but Externally. I believe....
2. Is used for Black screen games. Example. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is a black screen game. If you have it on an external drive and select the External and BD Mirror with the BDEMU(1 or 2) installed it can be played. If it's installed internally and you try and play it it won't work. Even if you have a good Blu-Ray laser with a disc in the tray. What it does is turns your External drive into a Emulated Blu-Ray Disc drive.
If you do have games like that and you do select that game and would like to back out of that game so you can like maybe watch a movie or just use your External drive again with out restarting your PS3. Use the BD-ROM Redirection Reset. With the BD-ROM Redirection Reset it gives you back your External drive for use. Confusing?
3. DeanK answered that.....
