Dean could put such an option in the settings area of the XMB mode. He could also just take the info generated by each game's file and use it to populate such a field in the game settings sub-screen. If he likes this, and if he chooses to put it out into the main display area, then I sure hope he allows it to be turned off, because I know many would want to. The trend has been leaning more towards less, than more out there.
It would be nice to have access to that info though. My personal preference would be to have it populate in the game settings sub-screen. It's the kind of thing that I'd not need to know all of the time, just special occasions, so going into that sub-screen to see it would be perfect.
Yeah I was thinking the sub-menu too. And as for it not being there for download. All Covers aren't either. It's still a work in progress. But having it in a downloadable txt file means A person themselves can put that file in the PS3 on there own. Just like the Game cover. As for the not to need to know all the time. I kinda agree. "Quote: just special occasions" I'd like to know if that game has 1 or 2 players or does it have online play and so forth. But, not all the time, right. It's only a suggestion. He doesn't have to do it all.
no big deal. I only thought of it cause I've done this type of impoorts on my own software.
"PSP Extreme Link" I had it download the Info to the game info. But then I ex-ed that out and made it have it's own IE web:
PSP Extreme Link
Then M33 died and so did my updates.

Cool
So I wasn't the only one thinking about that.

I suggested that Dean implement a game scraper last week. He could direct it here perhaps: GAF - Video Game Database
A search for God of War 3, for example, has most of the information you would like to see:
Developer: SCEA Santa Monica
Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment America
Platform: PlayStation 3
Genre: Action
Subgenre: Third-Person 3D Action
ESRB Rating: M
Release Date: March 16th, 2010
Region: North America
EDIT: This site is not kept as up-to-date as would be preferred, it seems.

looks like playing split files/big files cache games thru multiman is a hit or miss .. i got Killzone 3 to play, but thru /app_home/PS3_GAME/ only .. Blazblue Continuum Shift, Dynasty Warriors, etc gets black screen ... but they play using iris manager .
Dean, is there a difference between the playload used by iris manager and multiman for big file cache games?

Quakes69 and MaRINoL, I really like the idea. I think if implemented, then "filling" the files would certainly happen. Just look at the agressiveness that the covers get filled. They could have their own folder in MM, like the covers and they could even reside on the same server as the covers. Those files would be nice and small.

Anyone knows how to speed up the pointer speed in File Manager. I remember for previous MM versions, the movement was fast (just nice for my preference) using the L or R sticks, but now it is like in slow motion.

It's required for the new syscall selections and the split file playing from external and yes it can be over written many many many many times.

I wondered that myself. But I don't think there is a way. Only by hard coding from DeanK.

I stand corrected.

They say to Reload the game like you did the first time. Sometimes it takes on the second try.

Yup, they would be quite small.
