One time long ago, i have installed Last_game... And thats when hell broke loose!!

1. Didnt do wot it is supposed to do
2. Allot of Homebrew App + some Game Data folders got corrupted aswell
3. meaning = REcovery mode Restore File Sytem !!
4. Last_game crossed my mind as the root of this problem i have know !

Yep, pretty much narrowed it down as to why i have lost so much space....

But.... I have deleted Last_game ever since MM 1.13.0.0 !!!

so... wot does that mean !?

Shall i re-install Last_game ONLY AND SURELY to DELETE IT once again and hope i regain my lost space back ?

But , now when i comem to think of it.... that is WOT corrupted my Hard drive :rant: !!!

In a Attempt to try and delete the last game because it wos of no use to me because it didnt worked properly some data on my hard drive got corrupted..

The question remains, did the recovery system restored and checked the file system torough enough !!??


Oh, well --->> RE-FORMAT the darn thing will sure fix this ... And if it wont , i just gonna replace it with an bigger HDD..

I'm considering to replace the current 2,5inch hdd with an BIGGER one anyway ..

So how big is your ps3 hard drive actually ?

Mine is 120GB (in theory), that means i should have atleast something between 111 gb - 113gb space to work with !

so 113 - 80 = 33GB yet MM claims i have only 13GB so where's the other 20GB (noLESS) gone !!

Just gamesaves, trophy data lol :lol: somehow, i DOUBT IT !

Have you deleted the PS3_UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.pup from each game. Its actually the official sony firmware and is any every game and takes up over 200MB per file. For 5 games thats almost a GB

It shows as taking up 20GB because thats how much space the original backup takes.

When deleting lastgame or any shadow copy (lastgame uses shadow copies), it removes the link (shortcut) files which take up just kbs of data, this has been confirmed by many users including deank.

Its not showing you how much room the shadow copy occupies, its showing you how much space the actual copy occupies.

If you delete lastgame then the actual backup doesnt get deleted, so you would only regain the small amount of space the shadow copy took up.

As well as the confirmations from other users, i also did my own tests yesterday, I took it so far I formatted my hard drive, and started over and even had a spreadsheet to see the effects after each game, and did it with 20 different games, not one shadow copy took above 0.02MB the other space was from the pkg created with ebootfix which was between 2MB-30MB depending on game.

This does make more sense but I know that I was trying to copy a game and it said I didn't have enough room (reported by MM and System Settings in the XMB) after I deleted lastgame all the space was reported back. So maybe the PS3 is reporting the space incorrectly.

There is 22GB of it. This isnt the only confirmation of how much the system reserves.

Another option is in filezilla, select the whole system from the right hand side, not including and usb drives or bluray drives (as these show up if usb attached or bluray in drive) and right click and select add to que. Let it do its thing, that way you will see how much is on you system right down to bytes (filezilla default)

Yep, maybe not just the OS, but it reserves roughly 10% (i think) of the drive space.
