I'm having trouble copying BDMV rom in multiman, it plays perfectly fine in XMB.
Once i started the copy process, it doesn't show file size. It just stops at progress screen and do nothing.
But I have no trouble copying PS3 game disc. Do you know what is causing this?
Have moved question to more appropriate thread.
You will have to enable "direct disc access" mode. Go to "Settings", press [Triangle] and select "Enable Direct Disc Access". Then you can backup the Blu-ray movie disc (or any other BD/DVD data disc). Have in mind that it will be encrypted and you'll have to remove the encryption on your PC with dvdfab or anydvdhd.

I know there is the GBAtemp user guide, but I'm finding it very difficult to follow due to the fact that it is about a previous version and NOT mmCM v4.
I apologise upfront about being one of THOSE guys that ask the same questions over and over and over, but i really need to understand things correctly, and I'll be incredibly thankful to anyone who attempts to help me out.
so here goes:
1. I've already gone and downloaded mmCM ver04.04.02 BASE, am I correct in surmising that as a first time installer I need to get a BASE download? If yes, then at which point can I install a FULL pack? or am I misunderstanding something?
2. Currently on my ps3 I have FW 4.11, should I update to the newest version (4.20)? and if I do how do I go about installing mmCM from this point?
3. Or does mmCM only work with CFW 3.55 (the 'C' I gather is for 'Custom') ? If so, where can I find this and which one? (from what I gather, there are many - Dongles, modified firmware, ofw 3.55 and then install a patch - i don't know which one to choose).
I'm lost in a sea of information,
Many apologies and thanks
Hi, Tom and welcome to the forum!
The first and most important thing is to have your PS3 set-up with 'homebrew-enabled' firmware. It means that your PS3 must be on firmware 3.41/3.55 (or lower and you update to 3.41/3.55). If you have 3.56+ firmware you have to find a way to downgrade (using a flasher). Once you're on 3.41/3.55 (ofw/mfw / kmeaw/rebug/rogero) then you can use multiMAN.
Back to the multiMAN question: any BASE version will work fine (if you have internet connection and want covers for the games to be displayed). FULL version includes about 7000 game covers (for PSX/PS2/PS3 games) + some motion backgrounds + some themes. The difference between BASE and FULL is the extra content and is not related to mM's functionality.
multiMAN/mmCM work with 3.41OFW+dongle, 3.41MFW, 3.55CFW (kmeaw/rebug/rogero/cobra/tb).
CFW = Custom Firmware (kmeaw/rebug/rogero/tb/cobra)
MFW = Modified Firmware (3.41 Hermes, 3.55 tons of flavors)
OFW = Official (unmodified SONY) Firmware
I can't seem to find "Enable Direct Disc Access" in the menu. I'm using 04.04.02.
All i see in the <triangle> menu are
Reset options to default
Then you're either on Cobra/TB or some other unsupported firmware.
Try to insert the disc AFTER mM is loaded and see if you can create an ISO from it.
Yes I'm using TB, so does that mean I can't use Direct Disc Access?
I just read one of your previous post, only works with firmware with peek and poke
thanks so much! much appreciated indeed.
i am very excited to get thing sorted out and to start using multiman!
EDIT: so if I'm further understanding things, the ONLY WAY to downgrade a ps3's FW is to get hold of a flasher (which is a piece of hardware) and solder some things?
that is disheartening news...
Yes, sadly you'll need some hardware + skills. You may have more luck selling your 4.11OFW and buying a 3.55CFW.
