Hello there, I backed up Fallout 3 using multiman, and the game loads fine, but it can't load any saves for some reason, even saves created in the HD version rather than the disc version. Enabling permissions doesn't fix the problem. When I load game it either stays stuck at 0% or it freezes so that i need to restart the ps3. It only worked one time when I deleted all the game data and saves, but the next time I tried saving the game froze. help pl0x :[
i dont know if this is possible with multiman and showtime, but id like it if showtime had streaming capabalities for movies on my laptop and i cld access all my laptop drive direct from within multiman :)
I agree, it sounds like the kind of thing that Dean will change eventually, but I don't think we need an option to have the star OR the icon. The star served it's purpose at the time but the icon is way better. To have the favorites column the same as the games column I think is best, with the covers also!

I'm trying to launch DB game with version 2.0 of MM (external hdd):
-content of file 'PS3GAME.INI' after setup 'direct boot' in the game settings (Direct Boot only):
4D 4D 47 49 30 31 30 30 00 00 00 20 ; MMGI0100...
-launch game->no DB boot->immediately exit to xmb
-content of file 'PS3GAME.INI', next launch of MM (External, BD Mirror):
4D 4D 47 49 30 31 30 30 00 00 00 44 ; MMGI0100...D
I really have a big problem with the ftp connection after the release 1.16.00
The transfer starts with no problems, no errors, but after a few files have been transferred to my ps3 I get CONNECTION TIMED OUT.
I almost smashed my ps3 because i'm out of ideeas.
I'm running filezilla as active no more than one transfer at a time.
I'd like to put a couple ideas/suggestions on the table. (Disclaimer) I will never claim to understand the PS3 architecture or the limits of what can be done. Also, some of these suggestions have been mentioned previously. Finally, many of these are hardly necessary or essential but they would add to the features-IMHO.
That having been said, a few additions that might be welcomed:
1.) Music/movie scrapers similar to XBMC, etc. - perhaps in conjunction with Dean's implementation of folders. MovieDB/TVDB/ALLMUSIC, etc.
2.) An option to set wallpaper (even if only for XMMB view).
3.) An option to enable/disable the traditional click sound found in the actual XMB.
4.) An HD "coverflow" mode similar to what is familiar to people in the Wii USB loaders.
5.) Previews of themes based on the highlighted selection.
6.) The ability to include music visualization plugins such as the popular Milkdrop. I have brought this up in the past and Dean had previously stated that it wasn't doable at the time...
7.) Boot straight to multiMAN so that it would function as a pseudo XMB replacement. This will most likely never happen. :(
8.) Kakarotoks has stated that there will be no more CFW and other methods will be used to jailbreak future firmware-similar to Geohot's method. Still, it could be nice to have MM incorporated as a default if CFW ends up being released... This will most likely never happen.
9.) The ability to choose background music by selecting a song, having it copied from local storage, appropriately renamed & placed in the USRDIR.
10.) Scrape a DB for game summaries and ratings similar to movie and music scrapers. This is a feature found in the Wii Configurable USB loader.
11.) A game save export option.
12.) The fabled PS1/PS2 backup support. -I honestly do not recall what the issues were when Dean implemented PS2 backups as a test.
13.) A homebrew category in XMMB.
14.) A dedicated package manager within multiMAN separate from File Manager.
These are just suggestions-some are goofy.
Please, if anyone has others, mention them. Dean is great at this and I enjoy seeing what he can pull off. To me, it's impressive.
Edit: 15.) Hook into the existing standard Sony music visualizations.
Thanks for all the great work Dean! Sorry you have to deal with all the kiddies who think they are entitled to your work, the majority of us are very grateful.
PS2 backup support is not doable without SwapMagic as PS2 games run outside of XMB and mM runs inside XMB
