Multiman - DD-WRT - Unable to Update Software or Games –
First I want to say thank you for all the great content on this website. It's very well organized and I have learned TONS!
Now onto my issue.
Previously I had my router on a default firmware (TP-LINK WDR 4300) and updated it to DD-WRT v24-sp2 (12/31/12) std build 20453. The main reason for this upgrade was that I was having stability issues on the router.
Before updating the router to the DD-WRT firmware I was able to update multiman, update games, etc.
Now after the upgrade I am unable to do either and keep getting the following error message:
"Internet connection is not available or an error has occurred"
Things I have checked / done:
1.) I checked to make sure internet was working on the PS3. I did this via browser.
2.) I attempted to download items via the "Web" section and they download properly, but the list of downloads does not update.
3.) I adjusted my DNS settings to point to 126.96.36.199 & 188.8.131.52 thinking it was some sort of DNS route that was blocking the updates but that did not work either.
I have looked through the internet and it seems that many people have the issue across various sites but never had a proper answer. Can someone point me in the right direction? Maybe a tutorial of how to get multiman 100% functional with DD-WRT?
PS All Sony updates for games go through without a problem, but I really would like to update via Multiman and make it my one-stop-shop.
Thank you in advance!
Great news, updates are now working again!! The fix was a very odd issue, seems like a bug on the DD-WRT end.
Cause of Problem: My DDNS settings were incorrect.
My Fix: Adjust my DDNS settings properly. Username / Password / Hostname
I had my DDNS settings to automatically update every 1 day, unfortunately because my username was incorrect every time it would try to update it would fail. I adjusted my username under DDNS settings to the correct username. I saved and applied my settings and boom started to work again.
Hope this helps any others out!
