MM hangs backing up certain titles

Using MM 2.00.04 and kmeaw 3.55 CFW.
Two titles will not backup.
Modnation Racers and Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction.
Each one starts to copy and and the time starts counting down.
After reaching a certain point the time starts to climb up and up relentlessly.
I tried using the file manager to manually copy folders and have found even small files that appear to attempt to copy but then returns to the file manager without copying the file but no error.
Both discs are in good condition.

Any suggestions or a log file that I could look at ?
I am new to this forum and will continue to search past threads for clues.

I have MM 2.01.00 and kmeaw cfw 3.55
I'm experiencing the same with Modnation racers.
when ripping the games from disc it hang on a file and never completes...
The game plays fine from disc.
I havent tried file manager yet.
Any ideas anyone?
