What you can also do, is wipe out all the files inside the img folder in multiMAN (except the *.txt file that comes default when you install mmCM). This way you know if whether any icons are missing from your theme, because it doesn't delete what isn't overwritten. And what you think is okay, is because some old icons are still there, because they did not get overwritten, because you had missing files in your .thm file.
