Install BDEMU V2. Change your BDEMU Settings from XMMB to Hermes and then try launching again. Don't whine either.

    install BDEMU2.
drag your bles/blus (game folder) into source game folder on split4G.
(make a new folder) drag your new folder to destionation game folder.
    click start.
when its done go to your new folder and your split game will be there.
drag your newly split game to GAMEZ on your external.
install l a noire fix pkg.
    load game.
multiman will cgange param.sfo after you select yes.
    now play game.
thats exactly what i did and it works a treat dude.

Has anyone encountered the problem whereby even with BDemu2 installed there is no BD-Rom setting in the XMMB settings tab to change to Hermes?

Yes, if you're using a very old version. Use 02.02.00.
