Make your PS3 connect to PC (lan or wireless), launch BLACKBOX FTP, record the ip
address on screen.
Use FTP software such as CuteFTP\FlashFXP in PC, create a connect section to PS3 use info below:
user : FTPD12345
pass : any
ip: the ip address on screen
port : 21
Now you can be able to see ps3 root folders.
When you FTP to your PS3 running multiMAN you'll clearly see a message: LOGIN AS ANONYMOUS, so
Username: anonymous
and it won't ask for password. Make sure to set your ftp client to ACTIVE connection and limit it only to 1 active connection/transfer/file at a time.
Dean
Thanks, will try out blackbox ftp![]()

Thanks for any info regarding this
set your port number to 21 when connecting to the ps3
I get that "unimplemented or invalid command" from flashftp too. I normally use blackb0x, but since GT5 require(?) multiman to transfer those files, I guess I can't use blackb0x. Everything goes much slower with the multiman built-in ftp, than blackb0x, due to this "unimplemented or invalid command" message all the time.
Anyone knows?
All is well; I transfed the game dump to the wrong directory. Issue resolved.
Hit R1 to enter patch mode, that let me FTP into the /game directory
As of 1/26/2011:hi guys,
I tried to FTP to my PS3 tonight for the 1st time since i wanted to FTP my backup of Dead Space over to the PS3 internal Disk Drive.
I used the following open source app called filezilla which is free and can be downloaded from here FileZilla - Client Download
I connected wirelessly using these settings:
IP: 192.168.**.** (shown on the GUI of any of the current backup managers)
User Name: FTPD12345
Pass: Any pass seems to work
Port: 21
Currently transferring to and from the PS3 flawlessly.
anyway guys hope this helps.
