How to properly use Multiman Stealth?
How to properly use Multiman Stealth? –
Hello everyone, I'm really sorry to ask this, it has maybe been covered in other topics, but the information overload is overwhelming.
Lately, I decided to try to install the Stealth version of multiMan 4.40. Been running the normal version for a while, it works wonders but I want to be a bit safer.
I'm on Rogero 4.41 V1.0.
So, I got the base pack, opened up the STEALTH zip and I started reading the readme file.
First it told me about a certain installPKG . pkg, which didn't exist in the ZIP, so I looked up an old version of multiMan and found it there.
Copied both files, the pkg and the report_data to my (t)rusty USB drive and booted the PS3.
I installed the PKG, opened up the app, started the standalone [* Install Package Files] and pressed START, multiMan (the Stealth version) started just as fine.
I tested it by opening Showtime, everything was perfect. So, I rebooted the PS3.
In XMB, I then deleted both the regular mM and the standalone [* Install Package Files].
Then I put the selection on /app_home/PS3_GAME, and nothing happened. The readme said that it should change to [* Install Package Files], but it didn't.
I have restarted the PS3 several times, I even tried reinstalling multiMan Stealth, but /app_home/PS3_GAME refuses to change to [* Install Package Files].
What am I doing wrong here? Thanks beforehand for your help!
I'm going to add some more information, if it helps: I just installed Rebug 4.41.1 LE, deleted multiMan Stealth from /tmp/..., and reinstalled it via the instructions. It didn't work either. /app_home/PS3_GAME doesn't resolve to any Install Package Files when rebooted, and there's no /app_home alone on XMB.

Reason: Added information
I was about to create a topic about this as well. I'm having the same problem, but on CFW 4.46 (using the 4.46-compatible MultiMan, obviously).
This time I used the process of installing stealth MultiMan through regular MultiMan, but I have tried both methods.
I even tried completely resetting the firmware (by downgrading to 3.55 OFW then going straight from that to 4.46, also reformatting my hard drive in the process - as well as bricking my PS3, but fortunately I managed to fix it and learn a LOT about the PS3 in the process, so it wasn't entirely a waste of time), didn't help.
(TC: I just read your post closer and notice you're using Rebug. The previous version of MultiMan Stealth claims to only work with Rogero firmware from what I can gather; try switching to that and see if it works? But that means I still need help with my case, as I'm running (and want to continue running - far more than I want stealth MultiMan, but if I can I'd like both) CFW 4.46.)
EDIT: I got it. =D
My app_home still doesn't change, but I can use MultiMan stealth. You need to put the Singstar replacement Install Package Files back onto your PS3 (I would imagine it spoofs itself as Singstar, so it should be just as stealthy as stealth MultiMan itself). Then when you want to get into MultiMan, boot this Install Package Files but hold Select while it loads. =) This worked for me with latest MultiMan on Habib 4.46 CFW; I don't see why it won't work for you too.

Sorry, I'm just quoting you because I have a solution in the above post, but initially I didn't and you might've seen before I edited it. With me unable to find how to PM you, and knowing for sure that quoting will trigger a notification... =P

His isn't the only 4.46 CFW available, there's one other. However, I haven't tried it myself (I've returned to OFW now), so I can't say how good it is or isn't.
