Decided to give msys a try and ended up getting FWCellInput errors for the samples/fw "make" and for the testapp "make."

This can be really complicated when you're new to all this. I suppose I'll stick to cygwin for now since I can get that running pretty easy. Only problem I'm having with cygwin is getting the ps3toolchain installed. Keep getting errors. I'll keep trying till I succeed though

I'll retry msys again later, I thought maybe it had to deal with my environment but that can't be it since it started to process the make file but ran into an error at FWCellInput. So that means my environment is being read. I double checked also that I had all the 3.41 SDK files copied over the 1.92 SDk.

Still having fun in the process, so I will get these to work at will, eventually.

    Regards,

    NeilJames

It's not about Cygwin or Msys.

    You need to see this page: PS3 SDK 3.41 Toolchain & RAF Compiler Leaked via DemonHades - Page 1 - PS3 NEWS - PlayStation 3 News - PS3 Hacks - PS3 CFW

    And you'll realise you must download: PS3 NEWS - PlayStation 3 News - PS3 CFW - PS3 Hacks - PS3 Forums (requires you to login ps3news)

Hey ozayturay, I decided to have a play around with your Cygwin package to see if it would build stuff faster than my Ubuntu VM but I keep getting this fatal error about cygheap base mismatch when it gets to using make_self_wc. Any ideas? Is it an incompatible version of cygwin1.dll with Win7 x64?

Funny thing >.< That is the source I used to get the 3.41 SDK and I also downloaded the fix. I never thought to use the FWCellInput fix as I had no clue what it was for and also I managed to get "make mm" to work without it.

I know now that would have solved my errors with msys earlier today I just deleted the FWCellInput fix the other day too. And I just tried the msys method today Maybe this could be a problem with my ps3toolchain builds as well? (thinking out loud)

Anyway thanks for that Ozay, very helpful as always Cheers!

I use Win7 x64 Ultimate myself. So yes, it's working.

Do you have more than one copy of cygwin1.dll on your path?
    What antivirus are you using?

Yeah, I realised as soon as I posted that I probably had another cygwin1.dll in the path somewhere. Sure enough there it was hiding in System32 folder All working now.

Use it to process the .elf for reload.self and you'll get it half in size.

WC Reminds me of my FFXI days, brb wc!

I am using make_self_wc, provided by ozay. Is his different than yours? Also I checked the ebootFIX folder and all I found was a make_self no make_self_wc.

Now when you say process the .elf for reload.self, do you mean outside of "make MM?" I ask because I know the makefile.multiman already asks for the make_self_wc which is being used already and gives me a total .pkg size of 1.16MB.

It seems you are missing the peek & poke headers, the 1st page of this thread has been updated and offers the headers. Once downloaded, put the 2 headers in a folder named "psl1ght" then put the psl1ght folder in "cell/target/ppu/include." This should fix the error your having.
