This could be a firmware problem, but since you say nothing of your setup, we can't say for sure.
Those packages are compatible to the old firmware 3.41, and thus also to 'CFW 3.55 kmeaw' (as it accepts unsigned packages). But some other custom firmwares will reject them.

You need a firmware which can accept those packages, and then they install in the same manner as multiMAN itself.
Alternately, you may be able to unpack those packages and simply copy the emulator folders into the proper place for multiMAN to find them, though still invisible in Sony XMB.
Or you could then repack those emulator packages into a form acceptable to your firmware, and install them for use both by multiMAN and XMB.
But both of these methods require knowledge and tools which I suspect you lack (or you wouldn't be asking about what to do).
Btw:
Which of the two multiMAN packages did you use ?
The one with or without "WT" in the filename ?
and do i need the bdrom reset and usb.cfg??
'BDROM Reset' is just an alternate way of unlinking the last game chosen in MM.
You get exactly the same effect by just entering MM and exiting again without choosing a game.
So that extra package is completely optional.
I do use it myself, as using it is a little faster than starting+exiting MM.
The file "usb.cfg" will only be used to define access to USB drives with NTFS filesystem.
If you don't use any USB drives formatted to NTFS then you don't need that file.
I myself do not use it, since I use FAT32 format on the USB drives used with my PS3.

That's what I thought. And since that package worked for you but the emulator packages did not, this proves that you have a firmware which only accepts packages properly signed for OFW 3.55, such as the custom firmwares 'CFW 3.55 Geohot' or 'CFW 3.55 Wutangrza', for example (the latter is what the WT abbreviation stands for).

'CFW 3.55 kmeaw' (sometimes referred to simply as 'kmeaw') is the one I use, and it accepts both packages signed for OFW 3.55 and those made for older firmwares and unsigned ones.

Good. That is what I use as well, so I don't bother with any "usb.cfg" file at all.
with MM u mean multiMAN??
Yes. That's a common abbreviation for multiMAN.

I believe all of them should work, if you could only install them.
But to do that you need them repacked and signed for your firmware.
I believe that tools for doing this are available through links posted in these forums, though I can't pinpoint exactly where they are to be found. Perhaps you can ask someone in the emulator forums to do this repacking, not only for you but for others with a firmware that requires it.
