    hi all,
i have 2 tb seagate hd and a 3tb seagate hd. the 2tb is full of ps3 games that all work.

my problem is the after copying games from 2 tb to 3tb, multiman does not see any of my games on 3tb but mm file manager sees all the games.
also it seems that mm thinks my 3tb is full cause when i try to download mm update it frezzes my ps3.

please help it took 4 days to transfer from 2tb to 3tb. i dont want to do it again.

    thanks for reading.

Well... I believe the most you can format in FAT32 is 2tb. If you forgot to format the 3tb, then that would explain all of your problems.

What is the current set up on the 3tb? 2tb FAT32 and 1tb NTFS partitions?

not true, i also have another 3tb seagate last years model and it is fully formated to fat32 (mbr) and works perfectly, it has 10 ps3 games that work on mm.

the new 3tb is fat32 mbr partition, again mm does see my new 3tb in file manager but no games show up.

Thank for clarifying the FAT32 limitations for me. I would plug the external drive into your PC, and do some error checking and de-fragmentation if it needs it. Always SAFELY REMOVE too!

Can you think of any other changes that may have happened to your PS3 while waiting for the games to transfer? Also, try changing the Z to an S at the end of your GAME folder, or the other way around.

i am currently defragging not sure how long it will take though.
    i always safely remove.
no change to ps3, however when i truned it on today it started on setting the time and date screen.(this happens some times when your ps3 black screens and you have to unplug ps3 to restart).
i have already tried to rename GAMES folder to GAMEZ to no avail.
i dont understand why ps3 sees 3tb drive and can install pkgs. from it and mm sees it in the filemanager but mm does not sees games outside of filemanager.

thanks for helping, any more ideas?
all of my other drives work still (3 others)

I could be wrong here but I'm fairly sure you can format anything you want to fat32 (with the correct tools of course - dont bother trying to use windows to do it)

but as far as I'm aware mm cant recognise a single drive if its anything over 2tb properly so a 3tb drive would have to be formatted to 2tb/1tb and such

could be wrong on this one although sure I've come across this before so got 2x 2tb drives which work fine seperately

again, could be wrong but think this was the case a while back and assume its still the same

well, thanks again for your reply but as previously stated, this is my second 3 tb seagate drive and the first 3tb drive works 100% with all apps on ps3 including multiman.
3tb hds do work with ps3 if formated corectly. (it took me 2 weeks to learn how)

defragging complete and still dont work.

I also have a 3TB Seagate external and it stopped working too. I sent it back to Seagate last week and they are sending me a new one. Though my problem seems to be different than yours. Mine worked fine after formatting to Fat32 then died a month later.
Please always assume I am joking, because I always am. Except for right now..in this sig...I am serious. Seriously!

Every week I see Best Buy advertising the Seagate external drives, but everytime I read the reviews on Amazon, everyone says they die quickly. I have about four or five Western Digital external drives, and have never had problems with any of them.
