I'm glad you were able to fix the Rock Band game. As for Red Dead Redemption? Which version? The regular one, or the Undead Nightmare version?

In the compatibility list link I provided above, it says that that the regular version just requires for you to run Fix Permissions before you play the game, plus it's best to run it from the internal HDD. As for the Undead version, I've never messed with that one, but I'd recommend to just run it from the internal also.

RDR Undead Nightmare I've had working,
The problem I'm having is the first RDR.
I followed the compatibility guide on all my games. It's my PS3 bible.
I never could get the fix permissions to run. on both Internal and External it just flashes up for a half second and then goes back to the menu display.

then I would check the directory of the game to see if there is an issue with it. Also keep in mind that this game doesn't require the BD Mirror feature to be active.

I finally got Red Dead Redemption to work too.
I downloaded another copy of it, mine had some scratches on it that may have been the cause of the whole thing while trying to dump it.
I could not get it to work on the external drive, so I put it on my internal drive and it works fine.
I'm not worried about space on the internal drive,I just upgraded it to a 500GB internal drive, so I have the room.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions.

Glad to see you got it working. Be sure to keep your original disc, so at least you can prove you own the game. Other than that. Have fun!
