Hello everyone, I am having an incredibly tricky problem with multiMAN now. Every time I try to load a game using the bd mirror method I get the error as said in my topic title "Error occured while moving the game to new location!". Now I have seen a couple of posts about this on other forums, and it all churns out to people stating the obvious about the select x method (I know it only works on external) And someone mentioned on another site about hitting select + L3 because it moves the game folder and doesn't move it back (or something like that, either way it didn't work) And I am having no luck getting any of these games to load. I am running Rebug 3.55.2 (non otherOS++) And using the latest revision of multiMAN. The game I was trying to load up was Earth Defense Force Insect Armageddon (but I have tried enabling bd mirror on several of my other games, to be left the same message). If anyone out there can help me out, I would appreciate it greatly!

    Thank you for your time.

Is this happening with all of your games or just Earth Defense Force Insect Armageddon and a few others?

BD mirror command for a game should be Select + X (not Select + L3)--plus it only works with games on external HDDs. And you only have to do this once and from then on, you don't have to do that each time you load that same game in the manager. Also if you used to have this game on a different HDD and you recently moved it. You will have to delete a file called PS3PATH.BUP within the PS3_GAME folder of the backup game. Because that file it's pointing to the old HDD where you used to have the game that required the BD mirror setting. OK? You will have to do the SELECT+X command to run the game once you delete this old file, so multiMAN creates a new file.

Also, it is best to also have a dummy game disc to run the game when you use the BD mirror.

At the same time, also install the BD-ROM Redirection Reset in case you see it doesn't do it correctly. This add-on will appear under your game column on the XMB. But to my understanding is that each time you go back to multiman, the BD mirror should reset itself. I tend to use the BD-ROM redirection reset tool when on the same external HDD I have a movie and I can't see that USB HDD under the Video column on the XMB. This helps me avoid too many steps to reach the same goal when I have to run the manager and then return to the XMB.

I use Select X, not Select L3, I was mainly saying that was a reset suggestion that I had tried. And I always keep a disk in my PS3. It doesn't seem like it should be a reset issue as I have shut off the ps3 and turned it back on several times.

And ERROROCCURED, I tried to set bd-mirror on a couple of other games, and it had the same error.

Hmm, that could be a clue. You see, if you have successfully BD mirrored a game that requires it, it should then automatically make that file inside the game folder where I indicate above. Try this other method. Try manually changing those properties by going into the GAME MENU when you select a game in the manager. Press [] (square) then check the two following options: BD-Mirror (or whatever it's called) and external. Then run the game, and put a dummy game disc into your PS3 and try running it again. If it fails, go back to the game folder and see if at least that file was created--as I mentioned above.

I wish I could be more effective with my help, but there are two things that are preventing me to do so. First, I don't own those games you are having problems with. At the same time, I am not using the CFW you are using--plus I read somewhere that a few bugs are beginning to be reported for that CFW, so you might want to check to see if there is an issue with that first and foremost.

Look at my signature to learn what I am using.

Also do you happen to have other games that is having problems with the BD mirror? Perhaps I may have one?

Thanks for all your help Jay Jay, but It seems like I was able to fix it (For now atleast.) multiMAN had placed a ps3_game folder on the root of the external. Looking through it, it was War For Cybertron (which is weird, as that isn't bd-mirrored at all) I just deleted it, I didn't feel like going through the hassle of moving it as I have the original disk still. Anyways after that I was able to load the title from multiMAN!

yes, perhaps there was an error somewhere since that game was moved there with BD mirror. And this was causing you a problem, since it wasn't mirrored by you, multiman would not move back that game for you since it didn't have that file within it's folder properties, so it was stuck not knowing what to do then. By you deleting that folder will affect the playback of that game, so you may need to recopy that game again. But I am at least glad it helped you out at the same time, it taught me to provide that workaround for another member posting the same issue. So thanks for your solution.

I would urge you to install the BDROM-Reset.pkg that is included in almost every release in multiMAN. This way you can manually reset the BD mirror yourself or if you notice that the manager doesn't do this automatically for you for some odd reason.
