Can't Access External Harddrive using Multiman?
Can't Access External Harddrive using Multiman? –

Ok, so before you assume I'm making a casual mistake, just know that my PS3 is on Rogero cfw 4.30, and my external harddrive is formatted to FAT32.
I also have a bluray game disk in the ps3. I am also on the latest version of Multiman.
I used to be on 3.55 kmeaw, upgraded to Rogero, and everything went well. I was running all my games just fine.
I keep all my games in a 3TB FAT32 formatted external drive, in a folder called GAMES, both downloaded and extracted.
But recently I can't seem to access my external drive from multiman. My drive is detectable from multiman, but accessing GAMES just causes multiman to exit out of the folder window. Copying, creating a new folder, or extracting games to the drive all cause multiman and the PS3 to freeze. Checking the properties of the GAMES folder, using multiman, it says that the size is 0.00 GB. But that's not right, if I plug in my external drive into my PC, I can see all my ps3 games, and it takes up about 500Gb of space.
I tried using other managers, but it seems as though they're not compatible with Rogero cfw.
I backed up my games onto my PC, and formatted the external drive, but still no luck.
Any ideas what the problem is, or suggestions as to what I can do?

Downloaded Games are not allowed here to be discussed but i will answer anyway .but if you got any problem with any Game dont ask here ask where you downloaded your games .
can you check if its detectable by Install Package or not ?
or put it another External HDD maybe its the HDD making problem with the PS3 just for a test .

I am having the same problem with a 2 tb drive.
You need to read my post.
It's a couple of post around yours, named Problem detecting USB Fat32 Drive Games. Very Troubled. Kids are kicking!!!
Still haven't found a cure......

Sorry about that. Forget I mentioned it. Anyways, I tried putting some pkg files onto the drive, and it appears in Install Packages. I can install them fine as well.
I wanted to try using another manager, other than multiman, were there any compatible with Rogero 4.30? My harddrive works fine on my PC, and it was working
fine just recently, so I don't think that's where the problem is....

See if you can access your USB Drive, GAMES folder using the Mm File manager.
Read my POST.
You will see what I am going thru.

Hmm, I read your post, and it seems as though we both used EASUS to partition our drives. Maybe the problem lies there?
Also, Multiman file manager can see the GAMES folder, but it just can't access it. Just backs out of the window. Same problem as yours.

OHHHH, Never thought of that...
But, everyone I talked to said to only use it....
That could be it, not sure. Worth a try.
I can't try right this sec. If you can, report back.
DaPlayer.
And when I go to the File Manager and access my drive, I can Not only see the folder, GAMES, i can access it and go to a games eboot, and start the games from there. But the games will not Populate on MM.
Little different.

Worth a shot. I'll look for another software that formats drives to FAT32, since the one on windows only formats to NTSF and exFAT

Did you also us Easeus to partition the drive.
May want to find a software besides Easeus to ALSO delete the partition then of course, Create a new partition, and format.
Make sure it is a Primary partition not logical.
Just saying.

I've decided to use the cmd prompt method of formatting the drive to FAT32. It's in the process of formatting right now, but it'll take a long time to finish.
Probably around 10 more hours. I'll see if that works, and get back to you.
