    I'm trying to update my multiman to version 4.40, I've never done it before but I followed some instructions and basically I downloaded the base 4.40 pkg file and put it on a formatted usb stick (fat32). But when I go to "Install package files" it says "No Package files found, Insert a USB drive and click refresh".

    I tried to go to it through file manager and I can see the file there, when I try to open it I get "Do you want to exit to XMB to install selected package from [* Install package files] menu?" and clicking yes just resets the playstation and goes back to square one.

    Can someone help me?

    Use a different USB. Try both ports. Try this download: https://www.box.com/s/ks14r7xvf2er5fyqqqcm

    @ralani

    Don't be insulted if you already know all this. I'm just throwing out some simple solutions.

    Have you unrared the file you downloaded? You need to have a .pkg file for installation on ps3

    What CFW are you on? Rogero is quite straight forward for installing pkg files.

    Rebug can be a little tricky (although simple once you know how) to install packages from the xmb.

    For USB install on Rebug you need to select: package manager> install pkg>standard location (should be the last of three options)

    good luck
    All in all it's just another brick in the wall.

    Trying a different stick didn't work but the link to your file worked, thanks!

    So now I've queued the package and did "install 1 queued" but it just reloads the playstation back to home. What am I meant to do?

    I'm not insulted at all, thanks for your ideas because I'm a complete noob when it comes to this stuff. It is pkg file and I'm on Rogero. I managed to get it to show up now using the above file but something is still not right...

    What is still not right? FTP and transfer the file to Dev_hdd0/packages if it didnt show up on from using your USB.

    @ralani

    1.) what CFW are you ? very important to troubleshoot issues

    2.) put on ROOT of USB device (not in any folders)
    ---- if the option is there depends on your setup if you have package manager installed or not.
    use the STANDARD PACKAGE LOCATION.

    Have you tried looking?
    Once you queue the pkg to be installed the ps3 will go black and then restart back to the xmb then just go to games menu and about half way down you'll find it there 'queued' and ready to be installed, triangle, install.... done
    You should've realistically already noticed this unless you're just going straight back to multiman and doing it again or whatever else after it restarts and even then its kind of hard to miss

    :0.
    its not piracy if you dont own a sword or a parrot
