Just copy the game to the internal HDD when you want to play it. And delete it once you are done playing it. You can always keep the backup on the external HDD to archive it or to later play it at another time.

And pray that the TB team can figure something out for us.

    Yes.

What I tend to do is just keep the copy on the external. This way I don't have to copy it back to the external HDD. Just keep in mind that you must load the internal game and also make sure that the folder of the game in the internal HDD doesn't have an underscore (_)before it.

Example: _BLES00001 - will generate an error on internal HDD.
So get rid of the underscore and rewrite it this way BLES00001

P.S. Skyrim is a bad example, because that game doesn't have files over 4GB+. That game will play fine from an external HDD using True Blue.

If you purchase True Blue you will have to install the TB 3.55cfw or Rebug 3.55.2 TB cfw.
Also of note is if you change those EBOOT'S to TB ones, once a new CFW comes out with the ability to play 3.60+ games, you'll have to change all those TB EBOOTS back to the original ones or they won't work.
