Black Screen Games

When trying to load Shadows of the Damned and Asura's Wrath backups using fixed eboots on 3.55 KMEAW, I end up with black screens.

SotD goes to a black screen right away, whereas Asura's Wrath prompts me that it needs to install data on the hard drive, but then remains black.


Is this an eboot issue or am I doing something wrong? I already tried different settings in mM.

try from internal/external with and without select+x i dont have these games to say a definite but thats the usual process to try if still the same try a different source for your eboot's if that fails then try re-ripping the game from your disc it may just be a bad dump of the game.

also think it has something to do with BDEMU (Hermes/PL3) as Hermes might still need the old BS fix (select+X, external only) and PL3 the new BS fix (as used by the dongles)

BD Mirror option is not related to the payloads. Actually it improves the 'payloads' by adding support for asynchronous file operations, which are not supported by the payloads redirection methods (excl. cobra/tb).

Also there is no such thing like 'select+x' in mM for almost a year. Select+X used to enable "direct boot" for internal games and "bd-mirror" for external games. Once the options in the game-settings menu were added - this combo-function was never supported again.

Actual black-screen-games are fixed by the BD-Mirror option. But the cause for black screen may be elsewhere (like broken gamedata, improper patches, etc). Always delete the game data and start over.
