Backing up games with files > 4GB via MM to Iinternal HDD - Aborted

Ok, so I'm getting conflicting reports on different forum posts....

I'm trying to Backup my games on to my internal HDD. When I attempt to copy Uncharted 3 it progresses fine until it gets to pak23 (the 8 GB file) and then automatically aborts the copy.

Tried the "normal" copy method as well as via File Manager.

I've heard that the internal HDD should be able to support files larger than 8GB - Not sure if this is true.

Should MM be able to back this game up for me automatically or do I need to split the files manually and transfer another way?

Fatty PS3 on Rogero 4.30 v2.03 w/ MM 4.18

The internal drive can definitely handle files larger than 4gb. I'm not sure what your issue is, but it's not the internal drives file system.

Ok, thanks for confirming the internal portion. This is my first game with large file size so I wasn't sure. I know a lot of the core of MM is being rewritten for optimization, on wonder if something went awry?

Anyone with MM 4.18 able to try a disc rip on game with files > 4GB?

are you copying it on from a USB stick or from the DISC?

Original Disc to Internal HDD. Over 500GB free.

I think this might have to do with a read retry, or lack there of... thee's a minor scratch on my disc, the game plays fine but during one of the movies you can tell the drive is really active. Maybe need to add an option to change the number of retries or continue on read failure.
