Hello, 2 days ago ive installed a kmeaw cfg to my CECHC04 60gb PS3. Ive installed the iris, gaia, and multiman manager. also the snes emu and blackb0x. I also played infamous for a hour or two.

a day after, i plugged in an external drive, left the ps3 for ~10min alone in the xmb and then the ps3 crashed. tried to start again and got a ylod.

i cant image that it is a heat based ylod, cause the ps3 wasnt hot and it was only in the xmb.

What do you thing about it? Brick or ylod? Is there a way to get it working again and also in the future?

That sounds like a heat based YLOD, the solder weakens and cracks over time which is made worse/caused by temperature changes. When you switched it on for that last 10 mins before it died that was probably the straw which broke the camel's back so to speak.

This is pretty much the exact same thing which happened to a PS3 I resurrected recently, it was switched on and was used to navigate the XMB only. Then it died.

In my opinion it's going to need a reflow in order to temporarily resurrect or reball to resurrect for a longer period.

Correction: reball is "permanent" (as if just resoldered from manufacturer)

Yeah I tend to think that way, though in my experience it's never a good idea to use the word permanent...
