I installed geohot's CFW patch for 3.55, and then multiman. So i started to backup a few of my games, after reading it IS possible to boot most games, with a modified eboot.

But it dont work for me, hehe >.<

How do you guys do it? I've tried everything i can think of, the trial and error way.

I backuped my NSUNS2 (and Singstar = same story) disc, it saves in hdd0/GAMES/bles00952. Starting it = Gets kicked out to XMB. Ok, that is supposed to happen. I tried replacing the eboots, inside PS3_GAME/USRDIR folder inside. Gets kicked out to XMB. And i've tried placing the game to hdd0/game instead of GAMES, along with eboot. Doesnt work.

Then the user made PKG installs that saves in hdd0/game/bles00952/USRDIR. Gets kicked out to XMB. And i've combined these multiple times to see if i missed some combination, lol.

I know i'm not getting it. Can you explain to me how I am supposed to do? I can't find a dummy faq/guide. But it astonishes me the amount of people it works for, aka have figured it out but not me >.<

I can play with the disc's inside, but I cannot live without grasping this, its teasing my intellect. Please explain someone

Yeah man, i just did it, haha

    1. Backup game using multiman.

    2. Rename the PS3_GAME folder to the game ID. Move the folder to /game/. <---- nothing sais this is necessary, had problem here.

    3. Install the PKG. (I installed PKG first, then moved with already written eboot etc, but should work the same)

    4. Start the game from XMB.

The problem I had was that I didint really know how ps3 saw or used or how anything basicly worked.

This should help alot of people. And i'm using geohots CFW.

I want the game to show in multiMAN, but thats the next step i guess. For now i dont have to switch discs.

Thanks man, this is really good but still some things aren't quite clear to me.. So I know how to back up a game through multiMAN...Easy...

-Where and how do you rename the PS3_GAME folder??
-Where do you get the game ID??
    -Where is the folder /game/???
-What package are you talking about?? eboot??

The thing is how to save it in the right place... it seems the data needs to be in /game/ folder, for the PKG' to install the eboots and stuff in the right place.. Like you cant have the game backuped in /GAMES/ and then have the modified eboot in /game/.. Just wont work... And the renaming of folder... When you backup you have the game ID, and then PS3_GAME.. the key is to make PS3_GAME the gameID folder... easy... Hope it clears up

-Where and how do you rename the PS3_GAME folder??
With multiman... Its in hdd0/GAMES/ when you do a backup.. You rename it by first holding select + start to bring up the file manager, go to hdd0/GAMES/ and press select + X while hovering over the folder, to rename. Ofcourse you need multiman open when you do this.. Easy..

-Where do you get the game ID??
It's the folder PS3_GAME is in..

    -Where is the folder /game/???
Same folder you find /GAMES/ after you made a backup.. in /hdd0/

Im adding that, to MOVE the folder.. you cant have a folder named the same in /game/.. if you have, delete it. Then you open that folder in the SECOND pane, in multiboot.. and you hover over the source folder, and press select + O

-What package are you talking about?? eboot??
Signed packages people give out.. Its everywhere... I think they include the eboots, and they make this shortcut in XMB, like PSN titles.
