No matter what I do I keep getting this error using MFWBuilder trying to remove the "calls" home and nothing else.

Tried running on Win7 X64 and Virtual PC of XP Pro X86, anyone had any luck rebuilding this PUP? If so what did you have to do as I am lost. Going to try a OFW PUP and see if it is just their PUP or the software or maybe my OS. Cyberskunk had mentioned I could do this in the ReBug thread but that post is long since buried. A little help would be great.

    EDIT

Sorry not using the portable version of this either so not sure if that helps or effects it as I had problems using the portable version on v0.1

    hi,

your error is no key found
Make sure that you put the right variable for ps3 keys...
    Code:
    Set PS3_KEYS="your .ps3 directory"

Had the same problem last night and I fixed it by Downloading DanyL's: Portable Windows precompiled PS3MFW 0.2

    http://psx-scene.com/forums/f6/mfwbu...66/index6.html (MFWBuilder v.02)

It has everything needed and should work for you.
    I'm also on Window 7 x64.
I had the same problem happening to me by using his other version.

I have tried every compile from that thread and can't get a single one to f'ing work!!! Everyone throws up a different error. I got one that has the keys but missing rcomage, one that fails every time you try to fix the privacy settings, even if you use the damn ReBug plugin it fails. There are at least 10 different compiles all claiming to be working but a few post later they release another verison that has the "fix" only to throw another error. I have totally given up trying others compiles.

I know how you feel. I was there too, but I I solved my problem by doing what I've told you. Maybe it's because you're not using an ofw?

Try an ofw and try this compile : http://rockbox-psgroove.com/Download...n-portable.zip

If it worked out for me it should for you, don't give up

The link you gave is not working. I just gave up and compiled my own. Also you don't have to use an OFW PUP for the app to work as I used Kmeaw as a base for my last MFW build on my YLOD deck you just have to make sure you don't tell the app to do things that have already been done to the PUP or it will error out. Anyhow I think I have a non-portable version working. Now I wish I could find out how to remove the "app_home" from the ReBug PUP. I am making my own UnBugged PUP for personal use to remove all calls to Sony and more like changing my categories. Thanks for all the info and I will try your second link if I have no luck with my compile. Otherwise I am going to try using it under a virtual XP x86 again as I couldn't ever get v0.1 working on Win7 Enterprise x64.

New error I can't get past. MD5 matches and I am lost, I just want a patched version of this darn CFW to stop all calls home to Sony but it seems I will never get it as I am out of ideas. V1 works like a treat but try the ReBug plugin and get a crash. I try version 2 and now it gives this error after finally finding a working version and installing a virtual PC for just this reason only to get shot down at this point.

Please anyone got any idea as to why I can't patch this darn CFW. On a lighter note it seems the CFW users have done what cyberskunk asked and no hyperlinking his material I am surprised and glad that no one is abusing his work like the dev PSN ATM

    EDIT

Sorry on Win7 x64 and XP mode for a virtual PC of WinXP x64 with only the ReBug boxed ticked and I still get no love and the same error on both OS I try. Please help me I just want Sony to keep my private info private and that just isn't happening as is and I would like to be able to FTP without having to set a new setting then move the laptop close to the PS3 when if I get this CFW patched I will leave the wifi hooked up and i can use the internet and so much more I can't as I am afraid to turn my PS3 on while hooked to the network as is and it sucks. Wish there was an already patched version on cyberskunks site.

    @atreyu
i use win7x64 and i tried the psgroove version from TheNoob and it worked fine for me, where all the other gave me "wrong signal" errors or "unknown command".

i've only ticked the rebug privacy setting nothing other and i've used the rebug 3.41 v2 as the base.

(shish, this process takes up very looong, so sony has left a lot references to call home)
or has the app became slower?

as a side note: maybe run it in xp-compatibility mode? (right click properties)

tbh, the best (but probably not the easiest way) is to compile all the tools (ps3tools, ps3keys, mfw, etc) in a VM of linux. it really isnt that hard

I tried that version and no luck, tried it in XP and win7 with xp compatibility mode and ran as admin. And I know dick about linux and I really don't feel like getting another vm setup to run one 3 minute process as that just doesn't sound like the easiest route to me. Funny thing is the exact same compile of MFWBuiler will do 3.41.2 just fine with the privacy patch but load up 3.55.1 and I get that error all day long every try and yes I have checked the md5 several times. Im so sick of this as you can see I have been trying to do this for weeks. Since day one of the ReBug launch. Im about to say screw it and go back to my mfw I built as all the calls home are gone and I can use my ps3 as I would like witout farking around with settings and wires as ReBug isn't worth all this calm hassle to use some old game saves. Wish I could have figured it out but I have wasted hours and hours trying to run this stupid app on this darn pup file when all others work fine.
