I'm actually a bit confused myself about this, I've read it a few times and am still a little unsure if I understand correctly.
this package will integrate all the tools into your firmware, right? along with bdemu, etc. and the rebug stuff.
What else does it change besides that?
It adds a folder for the packages but what am I missing?
I'm just wondering what else is changed besides what I listed, is some code of the firmware changed?

It gives you access to the Debug Settings options but we are still a little way off 100%.. Don't worry though we aren't throwing in the towel anytime soon..

Also can somebody give me a lamens term as to what debug vs retail console means? or is that just meaning jailbroken status vs normal boot status...thx

If you would like the privacy patches.. The PUP can be ran through ps3mfw builder 2.0.. I have tested it already for this very reason..

Good question, from how I understand it this is a patch to any existing CFW/MFW so to get the privacy patches you will have to create your own MFW using MFW builder then apply this rebug patch over it which will install the rebug apps/debug mode.

As for debug mode someone else will have to explain that one, I have not personally used a console in debug mode but it is NOT the same as a JB console.
If I'm to take a guess it will probably add dev options and allow you to change some hidden internal settings.
