ok so i want to switch to rebug. now my question is, rebug clearly says it can be installed over any 3.55 fw. even kmeaw. so should i just install over and not go to ofw first? also if i should go to ofw 3.55 can someone post a link? i cant find it on psx and i dont trust many other sites.

for me it was much more stable on the cechg03 last of the phats, plus it has debugging options and u can use both psn and dev networks, when working lol..
Rumour in another post that rebug manages to bypass Cinavia DRM copyright protection. It's only being used on a few blurays currently, but it's looking like it could become much more widespread. Being able to bypass this allows people to use their PS3s with no hesitation or concern as a media player for the future. Conavia protection is in Sony PS3s since 3.11 firmware and all new bluray players. Only 3rd party media players and HTPCs can bypass it currently as they do not have the protection detection built in. Cinavia effects legit rips of your owned blurays you try to store and playback electronically as it uses a high frequency audio watermark undetectable to humans. It is very real and a good implementation so far as it can survive even pirate video cam captures in cinemas.Quote:

EDIT: Appears to be true! Posts in Rebug main thread discuss that the bypass is there. I might test this myself though to see.
