Kmeaw 3.55 vs Rebug 3.55.1
Kmeaw 3.55 vs Rebug 3.55.1 –
I've been reaading up on Rebug that's just been released and it all sounds great but I don't actually understand what the benefit of rebug is? I have kmeaw and it works great for everything with no dramas but I can't help with all the hype and everyone saying how awesome Rebug is but wonder if I'm missing out?
Can someone explain, simply, the differences between Kmeaw and Rebug? Should I change?
PS: I couldn't find anywhere on the forums where it stated this in easy to understand, so if it's here I apologise!
now after testing the top available cfw's...
I have to say I find rebug the most interesting....
everything is out of the box ready to rock and it is quite stable... (so far no issues at all)
GEOHOT - stable, amazing... opened the door to all, but sadly needed some additional patching to fill my needs.
WUTANGRZA was my 2nd cfw... and it was probably the 2nd stablest firmware I have used... alot of people don't provide much credit to it... multiman worked excellent under syscall
i did not find a single backup game that gave me issues, the only downfall to it was you have to use signed packages, and most releases now are not signed... you can sign them yourself, its quite simple but I found with large pkg's there was issues....
then I made the switch to KMEAW
I was finally able to run unsigned packages and did not run into any major issues...
they say that the unsigned feature is buggy... but I did not have any issues... my 2nd box had a bit of leg on certain games but it was resolved by going to OFW then back...
then finally made the switch to rebug 3.55.2
I had given my buddy the cfw to ginnie pig for me, and once I seen it I realized it was the best to offer in the CFW world at this present time... the other thing that really caught my attention is still even to this day it is being updated... out of the box its good to go, there is no real extras to do like wtr of kmw.
my suggestion is to run rebug, there is still support for it and updates being pushed out, it also seems to be the most stable in my mind...
a few other questions that I wish were clear to me that I stressed over for so long (stuck it out with WTR and signed my stuff on my own)
was that when you switch CFW's
you do not loose anything... it does not matter if you have the fat or slim model
I strongly suggest going into recovery mode (google it)
loading the original 3.55 firmware in system update (will not loose anything)
then loading the CFW (eather in recovery or the xmb)
all of your games and data will be there... including your apps
just make sure you system update from the USB and its not restore
Went from Geo's pack to KMEAW then to REBUG.
Just went back to OFW then KMEAW the other day, as I found all the extra menu options in REBUG to be of no use to me, and a waste of menu space. (For me, at least).
One problem I do have, is alot of my PSN content is requiring the clock to be set via PSN before it will run. Aint gonna happen.
