FYI: REBUG 3.55.1 w/OtherOS++ Breaks Trophies
FYI: REBUG 3.55.1 w/OtherOS++ Breaks Trophies –

Hey guys,
Not trying to say anything bad about Rebug, I just upgraded to the 3.55 flavor and LOVE it's features.
Since I'm new to the REBUG scene, I decided to just go with a copy with OtherOS++ already patched in just in case I decided to use it in the future
I also just got a new hard drive, so I backed up some save games, but didn't care too much for trophies or whatnot, so didn't bother saving those.
So then today I tried to play a few backups, NHL 11, Black Ops, and FIFA 11 to be exact. First thing I notice is that NHL 11 is telling me I only have 5 MB of space left - yeah right this can't be right. I have over 600GB free.
Black Ops gives me a black screen when starting - something I hadn't seen since the 3.41 days.
FIFA 11 was stuck at the "installing trophies" screen.
To make a long story short, I spent about 6 hours today troubleshooting why my backups suddenly stopped working. I reformatted the hard drive, reinstalled my firmware, and even re-backed Black Ops just to see if my backups got corrupted.
Finally I had the idea to go back to kmeaw and see if that fixes my problems - low and behold Black Ops starts up. So then I went back to my REBUG pup with OtherOS - Black Ops works, but the other games are still broken. FINALLY I was smart enough to try the official REBUG 3.55.1 without the OtherOS++ support - BAM all my backups worked just like kmeaw without any trophy problems.
I just wanted to post this to save the next person that runs into this problem the 6 hours I spent today trying to figure it out. Hope this helps.
EDIT: and now that I have a copy of REBUG that saves my trophies correctly, it is a lot slower than the otherOS version - I'm actually getting gameplay lag, and browsing the XMB is a lot slower. Maybe REBUG just isn't for me.

all Other++ CFW have the issues you have posted...
It has to do with the patching method.
As for the XMB being slow in Rebug that is only with your console, I have installed it on 4 of my own consoles and it is just as fast as OFW, I also do not get lag what so ever in games.
You might want to start fresh and install OFW then move to Rebug and see if that helps you out at all. We know there are some bugs in our firmware with some games getting black screen and we are looking in to it.

for me the xmb was working 100% with no lags too.
I did get the trophies crashes on a lot of my games which are discs. etc mw2 so I installed rebug 3.55.1 without otheros from restore mode.
my games are working again
shame about the trophies I cant wait for team rebug fix.

I am also confirming that the above mentioned REBUG/OtherOS CFW had an issue with my disc based Gran Turismo 5 trophies. This was not allowing the game to load.

Oh wow, I did not know that this was just an OtherOS++ problem!
But here's something I can't explain - with the OtherOS firmware the XMB was VERY zippy and the backups that did load, loaded without any lag or hiccups.
So then with either kmeaw or official rebug 3.55.1, the XMB is slower and with my new hard drive, games actually lag during cut scenes (remember, the same games didn't lag at all with the OtherOS firmware).
How is this possible? haha

- I guess I need to get my ass in gear and write up a lengthy unified guide for both rebug, and glevlands method that hopefully will be stickied to avoid these kinds of threads. I'll start work on that tomorrow or Tuesday.
