yeah squarepusher2, please develop something! i mean.. yeah, dammit!
what is wrong with these trolling kids?!
squarepusher has given us snes and a good genesis emulator on the ps3! when he says something about the ps3, and how it works, you better damn well listen! if YOU know better, little troll.. please put us to school with something with depth, or better yet, develop something yourself instead of ragging on people who ACTUALLY know something about this console...
sorry, squarepusher.. for seeming like a fanboy trying to protect his interest.. but i had to choose a side here.
This seems like a more or less noob-proof method to get linux up and running on the console :D
but i has never tried rebug, would you guys say its the same as kmeaw? snes9x and MM still work? was thinking i would give this a go, but does that its back to using discs to play?
thank you rebug, for this relase :)
I have a 256 NAND PS3 so i cant use this, also i have almost no knowledge off pc's, programming, Linux...
But im really thankfull that you people keep releasing this awesome stuff! I dont understand allmost every thread i go there are these ****heads complaining about everything. No matter whats released it will never be good enough. So just to say that there's people that really appreciate all the hard work you do for us. :D
Why cant we all just get along :D
This will work with any 3.55 firmware that is otheros enabled.

Also keep in mind that any OtherOS++ enabled firmware has problems at the moment with some games when trying load the trophies. Reinstalling your previous firmware will return your game compatibility back to normal if it is a problem.. :)
First thing first:
Thanks you for this.
As i consider myself as janes does user, i was waiting for this quite hard,
especially i don t wanted to format my ps3 hdd (for reasons like this i consider i am a average user)
I feel a bit shy about asking noobs questions without some research
So if you have any informations or advices for this case (using your tools and Linux on external hdd) , please let us know.
If you have also some story behind this project ( the motive, disagreement etc...), since i a curious person please tell us.
For somes noobs who are still trying to figure out how to play gt5, they ll consider this as irrelevant.
But it s not. Not for a lot of people.
thanks you a lot.
Second thing is Squarepusher kicking ass with some technical informations is everytime nice to read.
For those who don t know Squarepusher, he s one of this kick ass dev who don t give at any corner piracy lessons. He prefer to release big work.
So thanks to him since i never say it to him.
But team Rebug is the ones here, so again thanks a lot and my best regards for yours family menbers.
saw that coming...

This has nothing to do with Rebug firmware.. It is a tool for OtherOS.. I don't know if evilsperm was talking about this or not.. He hadn't even seen it until yesterday..

This release should be enough for most.
I also take it no one got the "Mind Explosion" as a spin off from chris angle mind freak lol
well it would be better than non-working debug options :p

@rebug team, has this fixed the issue from glevands version with game compatibility? ATM glevand's version horribly reduces game compatibility with games that use trophies. Which is basically any new or relatively new titles.
So does this version fix those incompatibilities? Otherwise it's not worth switching over as there are already plenty of guides on how to get glevand's version working on this forum. (no offense) Plus I want higher compatibility if I have to go through the entire process over again since I have a working linux install already.
Actually glevand has a solution for 256 NAND that he's working on. It should be released here very soon.

Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out. Considering the PS3 scene is still in it's infancy thanks to Sony, be glad with what you have. Otherwise don't let the door hit your ass on the way out. Meaning go back to OFW 3.61 and quit cluttering up this forum with your rants about how the PS3 scene sucks. Your completely disrespecting not only square (who might I add has contributed far more to this scene than you ever will.) but also the rebug team. (which again has contributed far more to this scene than you ever will.
