You did use graf's code, don't you?
If so, it's licenced by GPLV2, which means that if you used his code in your apps, you have to release thier source code.

give me XBMC on my ps3 and then i will take intrest to install linux on my ps3, otherwise useless.

Did you know what we had up until now? Printf-style debugging. That is 1995-level programming right there - perhaps even earlier than that. It's what they did on the PlayStation1. It's horrible. You shouldn't even have been able to expect any of the emulator ports up until now with shitty tools like this - that we even bothered to do all this stuff with these shit tools you should have been grateful for - because lots of commercial developers wouldn't have even bothered to be honest.

Why get your panties in a twist over someone opinion hes unfortunately right to some degree this release that was suppose to be groundbreaking is nothing more then what we were given a few weeks ago with dual boot except theres minor tweaks that differ it from the REBUG.....Its not the only environment to work with if my memory serves me correct LINUX is also runnable on a standard PC! This is nothing for the AVERAGE user who is rightfully filling up this places AD REVENUE! Why are soo many die hard against piracy when every other console embraced it . Wii has been pirated more then any other system yet its sales are threw the ****ING ROOF . So dont go all high and mighty on me regarding the $$$$ side of things its pure HYPOCRITICAL of a site that has information regarding PIRACY but yet the devs are soo strong against any talk or reference to piracy YOUR ****IN ADs is for pirating devices . End this charade already and lets not be the laughing stock of the console underground world it really is SAADDD that the only releases the scene gets is some lame ass homebrew game or Mulitman getting tweaked every 30mins like come on. I wrote my on APP to add SLEEP function to the ps3 not turn system off feat after hr but a actually fully functionally ZZZZ so dont tell me wheres my programs its not up here because i feel its not neccessary as the need were dying for is ability to play newer games on older firmware.

Does Linux bring anything to the table for your average gamer (like myself) who has no experience or interest in programming etc? And I don't mean stuff we can look forward to in the future, is there anything in it for me right now that would make it worthwhile to install Linux on my PS3?

(not trying to belittle this release at all btw, clearly this is big news to a lot of people who know more than I do, just asking if it's for me in any way)

It says when installing to the HDD it will format it. If you back up using the XMB and then restore it after, will that work?
