Install from recovery when you have the same fw version.
If doesnt work try to restore system from recovery mode.

05-17-2011,08:33 PMOk thanks alot guys i got it to work. i had to boot it into recovery mode. and next to the usb port near the drive. i dont know why i had to do that for but it was the only way... maybe bcuz i got this ps3 when it was $600 original price lol very old.
