Suggested procedure to update an emulator? –
First, many thanks for those who take time to develop and maintain emus on PS3. This is THE reason I've bought a PS3 and put a CFW on it.
How is it better to proceed when updating an emulator? Is it OK to just install the pkg over the older version so we can keep settings, shaders, etc? Or is it better to remove the emulator directory for cleaner install. Also, with Multiman, do the supported emulators need to be installed differently? Is it OK to just put the latest version and let Multiman find it?
Just install the newer pkg over the other one and you should be fine, you'll most likely have to re-set your settings though however. As for multiman just install normally, the latest versions of the emulators multiman should find automatically as long as your retro covers are in hdd0/game/BLES80.../covers_retro and so long as the jpg has the exact same name as the rom
EDIT: I'm assuming you already have your roms in the proper place on the internal (hdd0/game/FCEU or SNES9x, etc. /roms), even without the covers they would still showup in multiman if they're there
