I doubt the GUI/interface in RetroArch will change much

1.) The developers focus is not on a GUI, but emulation and performance.
2.) A fancy GUI will take away resources from the emulation performance. PS3 is powerful but lacks in some resources. A fancy GUI will drain those resources
3.) multiMAN serves as a nice frontend and direct boots roms.

multiMAN will boot all system expect for the new cores

    mednafen_VB (Virtual Boy)
    Mednafen_neopop (Neogeo pocket)
    Mednafen_PSX (PSone)

How are your trying to boot?

How i do it is just putting Roms in

dev_hdd0/ROMS/"System Name" (no quotes just the system name for those roms)

Then on multiMAN XMMB view in the Retro Tab i will goto internal HDD and all the system folder will be there and they should boot.

then same for external HDD. Make a folder on root and label it as ROMS then followed by the system name..

    Sorry again, just to clarify

I make a ROMS folder in dev_hdd0, then sub folders with different systems names?

    ROMS/arcade (mame roms 0.145)
    ROMS/snes (super nintendo)
    ROMS/sega (megadrive)
    ROMS/stella (atari 2600)

what file format for the snes emulator? I cant seem to get any roms recognised.

Then I go to Multiman, Retro section, select the internal drive (must it be internal or would external usb drive work?) and roms should boot? Could someone tell me the buttons to end game, return to menu to select a different game, or a different system please.

With the mame roms 0.145 your only going to be able to play some of the roms via FBA you wont be able to use the full romset.
Atari 2600 is not possiable. you can levae 2600 roms there but they wont play via retroarch.

Also be sure you are using the multi-System installation and not the standalones of retroarch as the standalones are not multiMAN compatible

from the first page of info you can see:

What Extensions are Supported by each Libretro Core
    ........
    SNES9x Next smc|fig|sfc|gd3|gd7|dx2|bsx|swc|zip|SMC|FIG|SFC|BS X|GD3|GD7|DX2|SWC
    ..........
    ........
    ........
most of your other questions are on the first page.

Anyone know if its possible to change the L3 and R3 buttons to something else like L2 and L1, i am asking because i prefer to use an Arcade stick over the dualshock controller. Navigating the menu with my arcade stick without L3 and R3 button is a no go, hopefully in the next update or release the option to remap the button would be great.

I'm so happy that this was updated and FB Alpha was updated with it. I can finally play Donkey Kong again on my ps3 using 4.21 CFW. Only question now is the sound is completely messed up in the game, is there any options in the emulator to possibly fix it, or is it just an issue with the sound not fully working with the emulator, or could a bad rom cause it?
