I dont mean to sound ingrateful as it is a good thing that anyone is porting any emulators to the ps3 but can we somehow make these a little more user friendly. I know the interface doesnt even compare to that of my old xbox (which is sad), but it would be nice if some of the settings would actually save and work correctly. Simple things like setting up the rom path. Setting up this is a nightmare and I still dont have it working and I am in no way a newb at this, it is just simply not working. I even tried manually editing the retroarch.cfg file to get rid of the extra "/" that is in front of the ROM path. No go. Why put the option there if noone tests it and it clearly doesnt work?
Anyways sorry for my rant but I have wasted too much time this morning trying to get a bunch of shitty sega cd games to work.
Any one have any luck getting the rom path to save correctly and open up correctly?
EDIT:
Well sorry to say, but I for one AM ABSOLUTELY going back to the old emulators resigned regardless of anyone's wishes, until the new emulator interface is more user friendly. I mean how much can you improve upon a SNES or Genesis emulation, that it requires me to switch to a new emulator in which the interface is not even working correctly or for me to have to download an entirely new 7-8 gb romset to use FBA again, only to lose the ability to setup my rom path and save it, as well as the FBA list of games not even displaying the real name of the game(instead just the gametitle.zip) . No thank you, I will wait until Retroarch is up to par. I have been more than happy with all the old NEXT emulators that squarepusher was doing. This new project sounds good on paper but these emulators aren't ready for release in my opinion, especially not if they are being offered as a step up from the old emulators, which to me they clearly are not (as of yet). They caused me nothing but frustration. I have now swapped all of them back to the old NEXT emulators and what a surprise?, works like a charm. Rom path saves, Game titles are shown in FBAnext. I will gladly swap over to Retroarch when these problems are addressed. Until then I am happy with the old emulators the way they are even without updates.
