You guys just need to copy the bios file (scph1001.bin) to dev_hdd0/game/MDFN90002/USRDIR/mednafen/firmware/

Then, open your .cue file with a text editor and make sure the name of the .bin file is exactly the same, including the caps.

Finally, just open your .cue file in Mednafen.

Also most PSX images have a .bin and a .cue with them, the bin is required (usually the biggest file), but you always boot by clicking on the .cue. They must be in the same directory as each other.

The FPS counter is cut off on my TV, is that due to PS3 settings or Mednafen?

Anyway Crash Bandicoot 2 usually has a (25) at the top of the screen, I'm guessing that's like average FPS?

It seems playable from what i played, i completed the first level, the game was slow, but it was mainly the sound that made you notice how slow it was.
What version are you using and can you suply us with the .pkg?

All i did with mine was:

Create a folder on the root of your PS3 harddrive called PSX, shove the SCPH1001.bin BIOS file into it. Shove a .bin and .cue of a game into it also.

Tell mednafen where to look for the BIOS file, if you press R3 then scroll to PCSX-Reloaded, you can select where to look from in there. Follow my guide above.

Then once the BIOS is selected, you should just go back to the first screen (by pressing O) then navigate to your .cue, which should be in the PSX folder on the root of your HDD, and press X when the CUE is highlighted. If all goes well it should launch the game.

Also are you actually getting into mednafen? Or is it a crash on the XMB?

    Update:

Crash Team Racing runs decently, still slow, but playable, voices are garbled, but general sound seems to work ok.

Spyro 2, gameplay is slow, sounds don't seem to be working at all, music works but is slow and lags somewhat.

Oh... And I'll have to point Mednafen to that folder too I guess using the R3 button too right?

I'll try this now thanks mate.

PS3 won't let me create a folder on root. I'm trying to do so using FTP and get an error.

EDIT: Tried it using Comgenie's awesome file manager. No worky as well.

I did it via MultiMAN, its file manager is far better.

On comgenie you may have to press Select to let it change files in Dev_hdd0.

Just to let you know, Dev_hdd0 is what i meant by Root.

For instance in Dev_hdd0 i have SNES, PSX, MEGADRIVE, AMIGA, GBA, GAMES, game folders etc.

I imagine the roms can be kept in any old folder, same with the BIOS. I just keep all my ROMS in folders on dev_hdd0, so they're easy to find in emulators.

The easiest thing is to put the scph1001.bin file in mednafen's firmware folder. No need to change anything in settings that way, just fire up the .cue for the game.
