Now, I don't know much about coding, but maybe someone with some insight, can lend their knowledge.

The 3DO emulator freedo, FreeDO emulator, has always been closed source for years. But, I just noticed a few few months ago. They recently released the source code at freedo - Project Hosting on Google Code.

What it be possible to easily port, some developer would take a quick glance at this?

    Thanks in Advance

This isnt the dev forum though, its the emulator forum. So I think this post is perfectly fine.

Just wanted to say cool post. 3DO EMU would be awesome especially if Twisted worked, and the controller worked with WC:IV

Yea true. I wasnt trying to be a dick, it was more of a joke you know.

I never really messed around with the 3DO so idk anything about it really. Any good games worth noting for it?

Wow, so we can control the OP in this section now, just all those old ones owned by scrutinizer now need to be ditched. That is good news indeed!

Theres a bunch of systems from this era I think a lot of us would like to see. I remember playing 3do at a collectible shop in the neighborhood. Its really a shame there isn't any good starting point for N64, and that nobody with the talent seems to have the interest. Oh well, maybe someday, that system had some truly magnificent games, the controller was just a nightmare. Sometimes I feel tempted to pull it out and hook it up, then i remember the feeling of the controller and how much the little stick hurts my thumb after a while :/

Ahem, back on topic, I had a brief look at the code, first of all it looks like the code is still an alpha, and I read notes that its pretty CPU intensive. I've never used it, dunno how mature it really is. Second thing I notice is that I don't think there is any PPC based version of the source, meaning more work to port it. I do think its GCC which should be good news. Video is openGL based it appears, I believe that could be done with PSGL. I dunno if its realistic to get it running fully or not. Squarepusher would be able to take this preliminary peek much farther and actually give an answer methinks.

I mean, to me personally, this is one of my favorite systems, for nostalgic reasons, next to the SEGA CD(Snatcher, Shining Force)...I wouldn't mind donating some change to whoever checks it out, I understand time is money...

I loved the original Need for Speed on the 3DO. Where if you crashed at high speed, your car would barrel roll for about 4 miles lol.
It was the original next generation console although the Amiga CD32 was released before it
